Rick Rude was a major part of my childhood. His feuds with Jake the Snake and Ultimate Warrior were huge events that were talked about over many lunches and recesses.
First-gen IMI Jericho 941. Made famous as Spike's preferred sidearm in Cowboy Bebop, this Israeli tank of a pistol is sexy AF and a dream to shoot. No way of knowing for sure, but I would put a few ducats down on Rick's being chambered in .45 ACP, just like mine.
I know the 941, so I have to sorta disagree, because his mitts would make a 941 seem small, the reason the gun seems as large as it does is because i believe it to be a full weight DE.
Though, you had me second-guessing myself for a second.
On closer inspection, you are correct and I am not. It has the longer, sharper dovetail of the Deagle. I was going by the (lack of) ports in the slide, but forgot that the first gen (and a half) of the Desert Eagle didn't have them.
Vader was absolutely terrifying to watch. I once saw a video of a match he wrestled in Japan, where his actual eye popped out of its socket, just hanging out on his cheek. So he takes off his mask, mushes it back in there, then continued the match for another 15-20 minutes. I really have to resist going on an old man "kids today don't know what ______ is" rant whenever I bring it up.
He’s not brandishing a firearm. He is opening displaying a pistol for a photo. It’s not brandishing until you’re doing it to intimidate or coerce someone
I've been a lifelong fan of pro wrestling, and went to a ton of wrestling shows as a kid.
I've seen Hogan, Undertaker, Ric Flair, Sting, Cactus Jack (a/k/a Mick Foley), Road Warriors, Rude, Piper, etc., and ton of others wrestle at live events.
I don't think I ever got to see Vader live, though.

Not just a pistol. A friggin two tone Desert Eagle.

Ravishing Rick Rude was hilarious back in the day when he had 2 girls on the back of his trunks and he would squeeze his glutes and make them kiss. 🤣

Those fuckin airbrushed trunks... as a kid at the time I dodn't appreciate Rick Rude, but he was such a good heel

Were these guys wrestlers?

Guy on the left was a good pianist. Well, and one hell of a wrestler.
Quimbymouse@reddit
They were. And by all accounts the one on the right (Rick Rude) was someone you didn't want to mess with...gun or no gun.
This is a pretty entertaining look at Rick Rude kinda trying to kill a guy in the ring;

Here was my introduction to Rick and the "Rude Awakening" finisher

I'm surprised no one has picked that up as a finisher these days. It's basically an inverted Stunner.

I guess not, but then I have no idea what you're talking about.

A DE in the early 90's. It would look cheesy now but it the early 90's, they were just becoming popular.
Finger not on the trigger. I respect it.
jeremy1015@reddit
Finger not on the trigger was the first thing I noticed. Agreed.
rik1122@reddit
It's funny how once you start looking for trigger discipline, it's the first place your eyes go every time you see a person holding a gun.
os_beef@reddit
That and muzzle discipline immediately communicate a lot about competence with firearms in terms of safe handling.
