120Hz 5ms 1440p Monitor vs 200Hz 1ms 1080p Monitor

Hi everyone
So i am getting a new monitor and I am left with the following choices:
Wootvision (South African made) 120Hz 5ms 1440p IPS monitor or Dell 200Hz 1ms 1080p IPS monitor.
I mostly play games like Valorant, R6 siege or Cs2 with my friends, however, I also do play some Singleplayer games like Elden ring, God of war and most recently, Crimson Desert.
Which monitor should I get for the best experience in both types of games?
Thanks guys !

At least here in the states, the cost gulf between high refresh 1440p and 1080p are usually within like $20 of one another, often ever for the same price on the budget brands.
Not sure how much more it would be to jump to a 1440p 144hz 1ms display locally, but here in the states it likely wouldn't even cost $10.
Between those, and only those 2 I would go with the Dell, but 1440p is something that once you try you wont want to go back.

Unfortunatley, to get at the 1440p 144hz stage, its gonna be an equivalent of atleast $70 increase

Are you sure its 5 and not 0.5?
5ms its absolutely huge and I havent seen one that isnt 1.s or lower for a good while.

This is the 1440p in question:

It’s all just marketing at the end of the day: some of the best monitors with “1ms” written on their boxes and descriptions are at most pushing 2-6ms.

Really depends on how powerful your computer is and if 1440p is even possible with enough fps?
For cs2 and valorant i see no reason to go beyond 1080p and the 200hz will absolutely you favour you here.
Now if you have a good PC and you like high graphics/eyecandy its a close call, but if you mainly play competitive the 200hz 1080p is a nobrainer.

So my Specs is Ryzen 5 5600, 16Gb ddr4 ram and a Rtx 3070.
As i said i mostly play the comp games with my friends, however i also play the single player games when i get the time. As i said, I never played 1440p and it is quite tempting

If that response time is from an official spec sheet, simply ignore it and look for reviews or measurements instead.

As long as your pc is good for 1440p get the 1440p one, there's not a big difference in response time. Sure 200hz is nice but 120 is all you need especially for single player.

Always get 1 ms for gaming and 144 hz above
Born_Bad_1294@reddit
Get the 1ms 1080p monitor. 5ms is too much for FPS games.
