Lol right. Every rewatch of breaking bad it becomes more and more obvious that neither Walt nor Skyler are good people. . . But Walt is WAY worse than Skyler.
I think the show was perfect as it was, but had Gilligan chose to include the deleted scene where Walt admits that he also fucked Ted, it would have been even better.
“Skyler, I could smell him on you. The smell of his cock is as distinct as it is intoxicating. Remember how I insisted on fucking the second you came home? It was only because I wanted to suck as much of his seed out of you as I could. The only reason I grew this goatee is because he loves how it feels when it tickles his balls. And you know what, Skyler? He said I’m tighter than you. He’s my Teddy Bear and I’m his Chemo Slut. So you might of fucked Ted, but he was thinking of me when he came.”
Yeah exactly. Skylar is a shitty person for sure, and Id probably detest her IRL if I knew someone like her, but she wasn't a drug kingpin and a murderer (at least Pinkman's GF counts as negligent manslaughter imho)
“Had it coming” insinuates she deserved it which is wildly unfair and untrue but she definitely was on the path with or without Walt’s involvement or lack thereof
I mean, not necessarily deserved it but when you play with the bull eventually you'll get the horns. Even if she didn't OD and get knocked on her back via walt shaking Jesse she was gonna eventually OD and die.
I think nowadays some people do downplay Skyler’s actions in later seasons due to her being overhated for perfectly reasonable things in the earlier seasons. Like, she did side with Walt when she’s fully aware he’s involved with killing people. She doesn’t know the details, but she knows something awful is happening on his side. It was just for the sake of the family, but she should’ve turned on him earlier and Hank might’ve survived.
Seriously. Skyler was reasonably pissed that Walt prioritized his ego over his family's reputation, safety, home, stability, and in Hank's case, his brother in law's life. He traumatized his entire surviving family and Albuquerque, ruined several lives, left Jesse to be enslaved by Nazis, with a swath of dead innocents, overdose victims.
All because he didn't want to accept money from Gretchen and Elliot, hundreds of people are dead (that we know of, probably more).
He could've remained a teacher and beloved father, enjoyed a few more good years than he did, seen Holly grow up for a few years, seen Junior go off to college and helped him get a strong start to his education, and enjoyed the support and love of his family in his final days and left behind a good legacy as a brilliant educator and family man who was taken too soon.
He could have even immigrated to Canada and as an exceptionally good chemical engineer responsible for Nobel Prize levels of work, had access to universal healthcare just months into his time there, and left his family a good amount of money by making a six figure income while he received treatment.
Walt had a deluge of options that other people in his condition could only wish for, with only positive outcomes for him and the people who loved him most and the community around him.
In short, Skyler is reasonably angry at Walt through every step of this, arguably not even angry enough.
How would that logically play out? Send a dude with cancer to jail, make all his illegal efforts worthless, and support her son and baby on a single salary while the kids lives are perpetually ruined knowing their dad died in jail for dealing meth.
She literally told him later on that she's waiting for him to die...
Nah, she cared way more about her image than his husband at the time. Losing her job, her son's reputation at school and the impact on Hank's reputation and career.
Only once he restarted his meth stuff with Gus. He declined Gus multiple times before that even after seeing the state of the art super lab. Using Jesse instead triggered him to start again but If skylar had atleast heard him out and tried to reconcile and not cheat on him, Walt would have just stayed retired after making his bag.
Every choice Walt made was motivated by his ego. Him resisting on the super lab had nothing to do with him wanting to stop, it was because he would have had to work with someone who was closer to an intellectual equal, which hurt his pride.
No seriously lol. Walt was stuck in a loveless marriage going nowhere getting emasculated openly by everyone on his own birthday.
And yet everything he does in the show ultimately benefits Skylar and his kids, but oh just because it was morally dubious (simply making drugs and not forcing anyone to take them), now Skylar is “vindicated” for being completely awful to him from the start of the series to the very end.
Hell he even placates her and the arm chair therapists in the audience that “uh yeah sure I did it for ego” when ultimately the starting motivation and end result of this whole chicanery where his life was at risk multiple times (while still dying from cancer the whole time) was to altruistically help out this banshee with raising their kids. Even despite the fact that she was half way out the door with Ted already even pre diagnosis and she probably ends up wasting all the money Walt made giving it to the Ted again and not the kids.
Your rage bait isn't good, Walt is a loser and instead of taking help from the Schwartz's he couldn't get past his own ego and decides to get into crime and let's countless people die.
If you actually watch the show, you know most of the deaths are a result of Gus, cartel members, Walt being pushed in a life-or-death situation, etc., rather than him going on a spree for no reason
Loveless marriage? She was pregnant and then had a baby. All while Walt starts his apocalyptic midlife crisis. The showed actually shows a loving happy family at the beginning.
Skylar loved Walt, not Heisenberg. Once Walt died and became someone else without Skylar having a vote, that's when she became hated by some. Had Walt never changed, she likely wouldn't have either.
No it isn't. Skyler loved Walt, but started getting sick of his pride shit, like when he turned down the position at Gray Matter, or their offer to pay for treatment.
Exactly, she's the one who took it way too far. Jimmy broke some of Howard's stuff, but she ruined his life, it was way over the top. Even Jimmy thought it's too much, but I guess he couldn't say no to her. That was my least favourite part of the show, I kept waiting for it to turn out to be a joke...
It was less an off ramp and more a barrel roll off a cliff. He's serving a life sentence, his life is basically over but hey, at least he has a grain of integrity!
I haven’t watched it since the episode came out, so I could be mistaken. But I interpreted him getting the deal in the first place through his Saul Goodman ways was his “win” just to prove he still had it, and then choosing not to take it was his showing Kim that he had actually changed and come to terms with the consequences of his actions
He is setting himself free, metaphorically speaking, by guaranteeing that he pays for his crimes.
Yes it was important to Jimmy that Kim was there to see him bear it all cause he loves her and feels she deserves to hear these truths but the choice is his own choice and he chooses it for himself.
kim was the simp for jimmy pretty much the entire show. she stuck up for him constantly, even when he screwed her because of his actions. she stuck by him through almost everything up until hamlin got killed and that just broke her after that, seeing lalo kill him front of her and having to cover it up for jimmy's sake.
Jorah the cuck from game of thrones is easily the biggest. He literally watches the woman he loves get passed around by like 4 different men and then dies protecting her for just a kiss. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think its debatable whether or not Walt even loved-loved Skyler
alfonsoalta@reddit
You can only love someone so much when they're a major criminal. Skyler hate was very forced.
