Any thoughts on how much UM there will be in the new Mac Studio? Also, do you think Apple will release it a their event in June this summer?

1 Petabyte is all we need

I think most probable is 256GB at this point. 512GB is a small possibility. 1TB is extremely unlikely.

How is performance using an llm on a Mac Pro m5?

1TB won't be possible. DRAM hasn't shrunk enough to make individual modules double in density, and given the M5 max it appears very unlikely they're adding more memory channels. It's possible something like a 640 or 768 could appear if Apple has some yet to be announced higher density modules ready to go, or as updates later on.

Betting on 768 myself

You can solder them on 2 sides if it's not already done.

Many months ago it appeared it would be 512gb for 10k. Now with the ram crisis who knows. If they do 512gb I would assume the price might be 20k-30k+

I’m thinking 256. They already aren’t making 512gb m3 ultras anymore.

Because they are diverting that RAM to the new M5 models in production right now, not because it’s totally discontinued.

I hope that’s true! Just my gut feeling

That would be sad if they did this. I hope they don't.

Maybe because they dont want a cheaper option for their 512gb M5?
