But seriously, it's almost always the case that brand name and made-in-same-factory knockoffs are not the same quality. The knockoffs may be factory seconds or made to a lower standard for QC.

Streamlight is not exactly the highest quality anyway, it's very possible the QC is similar but Braun is simply OK with less profit per unit

Someone did a video abusing the hell out of one. I want to say 2k rounds with a drop test every 500. It popped off for the drop tests, but never quit working or staying mounted through firing.

As far as people just beating the crap out of it and using it with FRT’s then its held up. Its less than a year old though so who knows what the long term results will show. So far though it seems like a no brainer for the price, its what I recommend for my buds who aren’t into guns like that and just have a handgun at home.

You don't need to buy an additional warranty. Everything at harbor freight is 100% guaranteed and they'll replace it. I had. I had one of those soft mallets that I had for literally 10 years and I used it until both ends of the rubber mallets had split open. I walked in there they said go ahead and grab a new one. I think the warranty that they try and sell you is a manufacturer's warranty and not actually tied to harbor freight itself.

I think the extended warranty they sell is from a third party, not the manufacture. It kicks in after the manufacture warranty expires. I also have doubt about your comment on being able to take back a product after 3 years with no receipt and receive a new product. This may have happened for you on the soft mallet and other items but I seriously doubt that this is their policy. In other words, I wouldn't count on this info, but it would be nice if it happened.

No clue. Their website lists items as "in stock, limited stock, or OOS" and that particular light shows in stock at every store around me except for 2, 1 shows as limited and 1 shows as OOS. Do with that as you wish.

I tried the new knurled version in my Phlster enigma and it fit just fine. However, I did notice that in the 8 or 10 times I put it into and pulled it out of the holster that the knurling was aggressive enough to pick up/abrade some of the holster material a tiny bit. Your mileage may vary, no idea if this would be a long-term issue.

Just for funsies I got my digital calipers out to measure the light heads. OG TLR is 30.04mm, smooth HF is 30.07mm and the knurled was 29.98mm. So nearly dimensionally identical. At least for the ones I've got here.

Idk about specifically molded holsters, but mine fits in a Blackhawk omnivore on a Glock 17. Needs a little more pressure to seat it than my actual tlr1, but nothing concerning.

I put this model on my 14.5 poverty build mounted to a 45° pic rail so it’s outside my sight box, but I can still actuate the toggle without breaking grip. It looks stupid but it’s functional

I put this one on my AR9 top rail and it works but it was very large. The dot barely poked over the top of it without an additional riser.
For $36 though, it is very bright and seems sturdy enough. My sidearms have TLR-7s so this is a monster compared to those, but the TLRs are not as bright.

I would get a wheeler torque screwdriver instead, cheaper too. I bought a torque wrench from hf once and it sucked. It was hard to tell when it clicked at the set torque setting. Ymmv

I have an icon beam type torque wrench and and it's my favorite torque wrench, definitely don't have those problems with it but I'm sure any $100 torque wrench would be nice. I agree with the wheeler though, they're great for the money.

ICON is their higher quality line of stuff and is worth it imho. Mine was a Pittsburgh torque wrench. I have other cheap Pittsburgh tools for occasional use however, and otherwise haven’t had any issues.

I went to my local store and got the last two there. The store manager said she got an entire drop of them yesterday and they’ve been flying off of the shelves since. Coming from only using X300’s, I’m honestly not impressed. It locks up fine and it seems sturdy but the switch has some mushiness to it that feels really cheap. I’ve never used the Streamlight it’s cloned after so I don’t know if that’s normal or not. I don’t plan on getting any more of these but for $36 I guess it’s fine.

I have an older light and p365 xmacro. The included tabs do not position the light correctly on my 365. I had to print other tabs to get it to fit properly. It did fit my other pistols nicely though.

Got 2, so no issues getting more than 1 at the discount price. The knock off pelican pluck foam case in small and XL were pretty damn nice and on sale too. Almost got them, but talked myself out based on need.
