Da'hell this for?

Seems simple enough (air!), but gives no indication what it's for. I hear a solenoid click under the truck when I flip it, but other than that, no sound of air movement/exhaust.

Truck doesn’t have a manual?
Cyanide612@reddit
No, it’s an automatic.

Who knows what the usual (night) driver of this truck did with it. He's a total slob. I just use it to handle call-ins during the day (it's CO² delivery).

That's a button I would've pushed when I first got into the truck. New truck new button. I'm dede frm Dexter's laboratory. OoooooOOOoooohhhhh!!! Gotta know what it do.

I pushed it over and over! The results were disappointing!

I've seen switches similar this on straight tankers, but they all do different things and it's usually added when it's an uplift custom order for the job. Usually the uplift company has a second manual that goes with the truck on delivery to show how everything works but the company shop usually tanks them on accepting the truck lol.
If you got an aux air line or ATIS on your truck, could be a rocker switch to a solenoid that opens/closes the air supply to that as those lines can leak quite a bit from use and abuse.
Most commonly I've seen a switch like that for service trucks that use the truck air or a secondary PTO air gen to power tools when working roadside or on mine equipment.
I've also seen air starters with switches like this that use air to start aux motors to power pumps/gensets on fire tankers/pumpers/uraban rescue, vac trucks, and cryo tankers.
My money is on the first if you're hearing the solenoid, even if you don't have an air hose or ATIS. Lot of uplift companies just have that shit built in because it's commonly requested, but don't actually install the full lines to support a hose real or ATIS if the customer doesn't order it.
(I'm a tow monkey, so take this with a grain of salt)

This makes all the sense.

You want air or not?
ceeday2156@reddit
Im really not sure that the confusion is... it's clearly for your air
LockportTrans@reddit
That's yer air operated ear cleaner. When the shipper says "ya need her ears cleaned" , you push that button.

It puts air in your butt hole.

That explains this bloating!

Could be 5th wheel king pin release, bunch of truck have incab release switch
anxious_polarbear@reddit (OP)
Straight tanker truck, no 5th wheel or pintle.

Accessory air pressure. It’ll provide air to a device if it’s hooked up to it.
WolfDigles@reddit
Looks like it’s for air. So if you feel like you need some air, push that button. Only if you want the air to move towards the circle though. Hope this helps.
