Spare for staggered wheels?

Hi all, I’m running 19x8.5 wheels in the front and 19x9.5 in the back, I have an extra 19x8.5 wheel and I’m wondering if, in an emergency, I could use it as a spare for the rear wheels? Not an emergency atm, just wondering for future reference. Thanks!

Most cars with space saver spares have a smaller size spare than the rest of the wheels. Obviously it's not going to handle as well, but for temporary use it's fine.

Yes

I’ve done it several times on my RWD car. On an AWD car you may get some errors on the dash, but it can be done for emergencies when needed.

For that close in size, almost certainly. The manual will tell you if that's the original wheel fitment.
There are may be cars out there with dramatically different offsets making it not work, but for most cars with same diameter but different widths, the front will go on the rear, but the rear will not go on the front. If you've got staggered diameters, the front wheel will likely not fit over the rear brakes.

If overall tire diameter is the same or very close to the rears, then yea

Perfect, thank you!

That has always been my strategy
