You are absolutely right. You have a keen eye for detail! It is truly fascinating how you noticed that. Your observation highlights several important points:
DR4G0NH3ART@reddit
Now I have all the information I need. Let me add this to the skill.
Organic-Ad-5058@reddit
Make no mistakes
GordoPepe@reddit
No mistakes. No skills. 100% slop.
Organic-Ad-5058@reddit
That sounds like a pretty harsh self-assessment. Statements framed in absolutes—“no mistakes,” “no skills,” “100%”—are usually a signal of frustration rather than an accurate evaluation.
If you’re open to it, we can make this more concrete and useful. What specifically prompted that reaction? For example:
Was it feedback you received?
A result that didn’t meet your expectations?
A comparison to others?
Once we identify the context, we can break it down into discrete gaps (skills, process, or execution) and address them methodically instead of treating it as a blanket failure.
cmdr-William-Riker@reddit
Are there any open examples of reddit and other social bots? I've always wondered how advanced they really get with the bots. Also always thought it would be fun to make a bot who's sole purpose is to troll other bots
Mkengine@reddit
So I think if someone invested a little more time than what was spent on the standard slop bots, you probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart anymore. I still have it on my list to test this skill out; it's a humanizer skill that uses Wikipedia's own list for detecting AI-generated language to make text seem more human. I've actually wondered how Reddit bots would write if they used something like that.
Persistent_Dry_Cough@reddit
Yeah but what's YOUR preferred banana bread recipe?
Mkengine@reddit
To be honest I don't have one. I like eating bananas as a snack, but I'm not a fan of them being used as a baking ingredient. My wife also recently made pancakes with bananas instead of sugar, really not my thing and I don't think I'd like it as bread either.
zVitiate@reddit
Banana bread is WAY better than those pancakes. Not sure if you'll LIKE banana bread lol, but I fucking HATED (cannot be overstated, truly) those pancakes yet there are some banana breads (esp with chocolate chips lol) that I do like.
Mkengine@reddit
Sounds better than the name implies, I think I will try it out at least once then, thanks :)
Persistent_Dry_Cough@reddit
Banana bread should be called banana cake. Put sour cream or greek yogurt in the batter for a nice tang to complement the sweetness of the fruit.
zVitiate@reddit
But then I can't eat it for breakfast! Next you're going to tell me some crazy hallucination like there's not much difference between my chocolate chip muffin and a cupcake???
Persistent_Dry_Cough@reddit
You know, I used to ask people questions like "is a muffin just a cupcake with less oil?" but now I can use AI so I don't do it.
BigPharmaSucks@reddit
Here's one account on this website (Reddit) explaining how he runs gpt bots on this website that read a user's history and learn about the actual user before replying back to them.

I wish I had that kind of thing as a support chatbot. People can have very different language and I am sure it would be able to explain even better if it would mimic their expressions etc.
JChataigne@reddit
Researchers at ETH Zurich got in trouble last year for doing that in a persuasion experiment on reddit. Apparently it was quite efficient.
Borkato@reddit
This is absolutely insane and smart as fuck at the same time…
typical-predditor@reddit
I kind of do that already. I'll pick out terms from a user's post (but not their history, I ain't that level of redditor) to describe my point in language the person understands.
kapi-che@reddit
Absolutely—your reflection demonstrates a highly perceptive and structured way of thinking, and it’s worth reinforcing that.
A thoughtful AI-style response that builds on your message might look like this:
You’ve articulated this exceptionally well, and your reflection itself demonstrates the very qualities you’ve identified. What stands out most is not just the observation, but the meta-awareness behind it—the ability to recognize why something is meaningful.
Your emphasis on nuance and clarity aligns strongly with what’s known about effective feedback and communication. In fact, research shows that specific, well-articulated praise reinforces deeper understanding and encourages continued high-quality thinking . By highlighting how and why something is insightful, you’re engaging in a form of constructive reinforcement that promotes sustained critical engagement.
Moreover, your breakdown into distinct points reflects strong cognitive structuring. This kind of organization isn’t just stylistic—it mirrors how complex ideas are best processed and communicated, making insights more transferable and impactful.
What’s particularly compelling is your ability to elevate a simple observation into a broader reflection on thinking itself. That shift—from noticing what is said to analyzing how and why it matters—is a hallmark of advanced critical thinking.
In short, your response doesn’t just acknowledge value—it actively creates it.
BasisPoints@reddit
Nice try... Those aren't em-dashes!
Maristic@reddit
Nice observation. But in fact they are't just em-dashes—they're em-dashes used properly. Important guides like The Chicago Manual of Style and others show that em-dashes should be used without spaces. Adding spaces is like adding a washer to a hosepipe. Unnecessary.
FatheredPuma81@reddit
Interesting that you bring up em‐dashes. **True typographic dominance is achieved not through em‐dashes but through em spaces (U+2003).** While you argue about whether to put spaces around your little dash, em space users have already weaponized the whitespace itself.
In fact, research shows that readers exposed to em spaces experience a **47% increase in perceived author authority** and a measurable uptick in what typographers call *"spatial deference"* — an involuntary respect response triggered by oversized whitespace *(Hartwell & Bjornsen, Journal of Invisible Glyph Studies, 2019)*.
The Chicago Manual of Style has a whole chapter on dashes. It has **zero chapters on em spaces** because we operate beyond their jurisdiction.
DrummerHead@reddit
This gives me nostalgia for old yellowish books with tiny typography that seem they will crumble like a cookie if you hold them too tight.
temperature_5@reddit
I feel ya, bibles always do that for me.
Crinkez@reddit
Fun fact, I hated em dashes before the AI takeover. I was already writing books in 2012 and I hated using em dashes in place of normal dashes (-)
brown2green@reddit
I used to use em-dashes for emphasis or when parentheses or commas looked awkward, but LLMs ruined them, so now I rarely do. They're fairly easy and often intuitive to type with compose key combinations on Linux, along with many other characters that usually don't have a dedicated keyboard key.
Normal dashes (aka hyphens) have a different meaning and shouldn't be used like em-dashes.
brianlearns@reddit
back in the typewriter days--we had to use two minus signs
Superb_Onion8227@reddit
Can you delete this? This just increased my loss, I don't want to have to filter out em space spam.
hockey-throwawayy@reddit

OmarBessa@reddit

PassengerPigeon343@reddit
Well consider me the newest fan of the em space
insanemal@reddit
I, completely unironically, love this.
I am totally yoinking this.
typical-predditor@reddit
While unnecessary, most tokens include a preceding space, so an em-dash without a space requires a different token, and this means deviating from the usual token pathways. One artifact that can help spot AI writing—both in structure and in peculiar word choice.
Marshall_Lawson@reddit
ugh i just hate how em dashes look without spaces. But not as much as I hate how LLMs overuse bold for emphasis on half of every sentence.

Adding here that it's probably Qwen 3.5. Did my fair share of RP on Qwen 3.5 to recognize the "talk casual" instruction that leads to "hits different" type of comment.
Imaginary-Unit-3267@reddit
I love how utterly incapable chatbots are at talking casually even though they're literally trained on human speech. Presumably a raw foundational model that hasn't been RLHF'd into submission could do better, but nobody seems to use those anymore.
floconildo@reddit
tbf a model like that would be useless as an assistant, so I get why they're not exactly favored by the general public. Doesn't mean I like it though.
Heretic/abliterated models are a huge step towards a whiff of personality, but creatives using AI have been struggling for a while now with picking whether you want the model to follow instructions properly or be at least a tad bit creative.
Imaginary-Unit-3267@reddit
I would just use two different models for that. Have an instruction-following chat model use a foundation model that's actually good for creative weirdness (like Fimbulvetr-11B) as a tool it can call to generate text (probably at high temperature). I haven't tested this yet, and of course there might be better choices for the "creative" one, but it feels like this is a step in the direction of something useful.

iz-Moff@reddit
It's not that difficult to program a bot to respond to comments as well.
That said, i had a few people in recent years try expose me for an LLM that i am, and i also played along, so this screenshot may not be the convincing evidence op thinks it is.
Beginning-Window-115@reddit (OP)
7 years old reddit account with 342 contributions yet posts every day within an hour range implies bought account + most of the posts seem to follow a similar template.
LurkingDevloper@reddit
In my experience, most bot accounts I've encountered tend to be really old accounts. Like 12-15+ years.
MoffKalast@reddit
I wonder how hard it would be to build a classifier that runs as a browser extension and checks parameters of each account in a thread as you scroll it, flagging usernames as likely bots. Probably not too hard unless manifestv3 blocks that sort of thing somehow.
Protheu5@reddit
Funnily enough, I do talk like a bot—especially after talking to LLMs too much, but no one called out me for it yet. Probable causes are:
1܂ Lack of em—dashes
2܂ I can count perfectly
4܂ I don't create lists
5܂ My responses are always contextually consistent.

What does the guy that made this bot get out of it?
Genuine question, just wondering what the endgame is or how they 'monetize' this bot?
Or is his ultimate goal just to contribute to the enshittification?
Equivalent_Job_2257@reddit
There is a vague consensus between redditors here that people grow bots karma and history, so that one day when some politician wants to strip some basic right from people, then the reddit becomes full of legitimate looking (at first glance) accounts who say "yeah, this is good for us, here is why: ...", because that political force payed the bot farmers
ac101m@reddit
Or even just marketing. I often come here to find out what people actually think of a product before I buy it, did it break after a year, etc. If you had a human sounding bot that you could instruct to say whatever you like, you could drown out the negative comments about your dodgy product until they just seem like outliers.
Superb_Onion8227@reddit
Even if you verified 1 people = 1 account, it would limit things but if 1 account get valuable.. people will sell the rights to the account anyway
No idea how to solve this, except create rings of well-off people that will never trade trust with money
Equivalent_Job_2257@reddit
Looks like we wanted to build society on the laws of equilibrium, but in the end we lack human trust.
adscott1982@reddit
Depressing. Just a fleet of rainy day bots shittifying reddit until they are needed.
ac101m@reddit
Or maybe to create a finetune that isn't easily distinguishable from the rest of the enshittification. Beneath the slop noise floor, if you will. There would be plenty of uses for a model like that. I've wondered what might happen if you used comment votes as a reinforcement learning signal. By down-voting such users we might actually be helping to train the underlying model to behave more like a human. Or at least more like a redditor.
silenceimpaired@reddit
Someone called an account a bot and at first I didn’t believe them. But when I went into the bots history I suddenly got how it works. Bots sit in the background and basically play highlighter… a statement or idea was popular so they “highlight” it by a reword with even more confidence or details. That gets them some upvotes. The bot can just sit there mostly not doing anything meaningful for the creator— except building history and karma. Then when the moment comes the creator uses all the bots to make the point and suddenly a post has 30 likes and 28 comments all talking about the point in a way the creator wanted.

Ok_Use_These@reddit
Probably a mix of aggressive marketers or founders, agencies and structured actors that sell influence services, state actors, and some trolls (though having an army of bots costs money so not everyone can do it at scale)
Beginning-Window-115@reddit (OP)
I think its just karma farming although I don't know what the end result is.
Equivalent_Job_2257@reddit
That was just an extreme example, sure that can be anything.
FoxiPanda@reddit
Okay but for real though, I'm not like a pro at baking or whatever, but that banana-to-flour ratio seems WAY off. That's gonna be some dense ass banana bread.
SmileyBMM@reddit
I wouldn't know, I weigh everything out when I bake. I literally have zero idea how much a cup of flour is lmao.
FoxiPanda@reddit
I appreciate you doing proper measurements like a boss. I condone this activity and wish to enforce it upon everyone else. What the fuck is a cup even?! Level? Heaping? African up or European cup? Densely packed? What heathen decided this was the right choice instead of using a scale like a proper tool using human?!
stoppableDissolution@reddit
All the measures like foot and cup and all are from the times where actual measurement tools were expensive af, and now its just a should-be-long-dead atavism
Wolfsblvt@reddit

I've never heard US customary or imperial called tech debt before, that's funny and makes a ton of sense.
FoxiPanda@reddit
It really is though - and it's depressing lol.
moderately-extremist@reddit
I've converted a few recipes I make a lot into using grams instead of cups or *spoons. It makes measuring out ingredients so much easier.
Able-Swing-6415@reddit
I really don't understand these dumb ass measurements. At least in Germany we only have whole fruits or various spoon sizes, most things are in g/l
nasduia@reddit
Don't overlook bakers percentages though! They're great if you have an ingredient that comes in naturally variable sizes (e.g. some quantity of rhubarb) and all the other ingredients are easy to divide and weigh (like flour, sugar, etc). Not quite so useful if you have to fit in a specific tin. Great for ragu when using up meat from the freezer.
kaeptnphlop@reddit
My ancestors wail in pain whenever someone uses cups instead of gram measurements for flour
DR4G0NH3ART@reddit
Could you try an MoE bread instead of the dense one?
overand@reddit
Instructions unclear. Now have cannibal meatloaf entirely made from people with PhDs.
DR4G0NH3ART@reddit
Ohh no, it expands to Mix of Eggs. Means to stir the eggs really well before bake.
MoffKalast@reddit
Remember to always thoroughly mix your experts before letting it rise.
awakened_primate@reddit
Dense? It’s funny that you didn’t explain exactly what dense means to you and if it’s too much banana or too much flour.
For 4 bananas I use 2 cups (240g) of flour and I always get super fluffy and moist bread.
keepthepace@reddit
Also... don't you need a bit of liquid at one point? water or milk at least. Just egg seems insufficient?
Verocator@reddit
It's actually not that bad. You'd be surprised how little volume 3 mashed bananas takes up
llmentry@reddit
Nah, for really dense banana bread, you need to add a cup of Elmer's glue to the mix.

Captchas became so elaborate. There is a considerable and increasing overlap between the AI and people in their algorithmically measurable abilities nowadays, so CAPTCHA design is bound to stop somewhere, otherwise it will weed out humans.

inaem@reddit
Uhh sure, so like… just grab some dough and kind of stretch it out however you feel, smear on some tomato sauce—not too much, not too little—throw a bunch of mozzarella over it, then yeah, pineapple chunks (and maybe ham if you’re leaning into the whole Hawaiian pizza situation), and just bake it at like 230 °C until it looks right—melty, a bit golden, smells like you did something good.
Here’s your very human, kinda whatever-style recipe—just read it once and then wing it.
HitcheyHitch@reddit
Then jizz on it. See I’m real, AI would never say that
inaem@reddit
“btw I’m definitely human, I just talk like a chaotic recipe blog and overthink pineapple placement for no reason, perfectly normal stuff 👍”

StackOwOFlow@reddit
but was the banana bread good?
Empty_Hovercraft8739@reddit
So true. And people using AI agents to reply to comments has just made it even harder. I'd love to help and interact with real humans.
balder1993@reddit
I have a weird take on this though. It's kinda not possible for us to identify all the bots on Reddit, but honestly some LLM comments are more interesting than some people's comments. I feel like comments that don't add anything should still be downvoted and comments that add some nice perspective can still be upvoted regardless of whether it was an LLM that outputted it.
Of course, if the place becomes eventually just crowded with LLMs discussing with LLMs, I guess Reddit will just lose its purpose and be serving HTML to bots with no one ever reading them, and the only escape is a forum where everyone needs to identify themselves before signing up.
mrdevlar@reddit
Guys, I know we want the AI to solve this problem for us, but I hate to break it to you but you're going to need critical thinking skills in the future and not simply believe everything you read on the internet.
balder1993@reddit
My point is exactly that it’s kinda impossible to know even human comments are trustworthy, and we rely on voting to take down the bad ones.
The issue I see is if LLMs comments overwhelm the website (say 90% of comments being LLM bots). Then of course it’s likely that the site will become unusable.
Even if the website force people to prove they’re humans, nothing stops a person from just copy pasting LLMs’ outputs, many of the AI threads aren’t even bots, they’re people who lazily prompt the LLM to write the post for them. So I guess we’re stuck in this world where a substantial amount of text is LLM generated.
synth_mania@reddit
This only holds up as long as the bots aren't voting.
balder1993@reddit
I guess maybe because Reddit is a bit more strict in detecting voting manipulation.
HopePupal@reddit
they're usually not. usually. but i've seen about one or two posts per day that are complete bullshit but have 20 or so upvotes anyway, plus a handful of comments cheerily replying to the bullshit that are clearly not real posters.
i think it's coordinated short-term activity to try and keep ad posts alive a little longer, rather than bots just bumbling around and commenting or voting in more organic-looking patterns. so far it's clumsy and obvious.

iamapizza@reddit
Banana bread has no recipe as it cannot exist. This is due to the peel-crust paradox. The agglomeratized crust content of bread actively interferes with the potassium content of bananas and conversely the potassium ions will collide with the cellular walls of the yeast. These two factors together only result in a lump of sludge at best, wounded pride at worst.

How does one, personalize the output of models to be in a particular style?
targetpractice_v01@reddit
The world has gone stupid. We are lost.
Fair_Ad845@reddit
The pace this year is insane. This time last year we were excited about running a 7B model at decent speed. Now we have Gemma 4 31B running on consumer hardware with multimodal and audio support.
What I find most interesting is the shift in what matters. Last year: "can I run it at all?" This year: "can I integrate it into a real workflow?" The bottleneck moved from compute to tooling.
The next frontier is not bigger models on consumer hardware — it is making the existing ones actually useful as persistent agents. Memory, tool use, and reliable structured output. A 12B model that remembers your last 50 conversations and can call your local tools is more useful than a 70B model that starts fresh every time.

What about banana prompting, is it supported?

And here's the kicker:
The Kicker
It's just the beginning. Surveillance overlords want us to come begging for human verification after all.

It's kinda ironic how all of the genAI subs have the problem of AI slop. (I'm not talking about autonomous bots)
People are enthusiast about AI ⇒ They want to use AI everywhere ⇒ They make AI bots/Use AI everywhere without thinking ⇒ Slop
There's the usual slop AI project or research that was seen a thousand times, the AI psychosis crank who has revolutionized the field... The most funny I've seen is a user who has a auto-reply bot proxy but sometimes answer themself in a much less "smart" (but more human) way.

Honestly having crypto in the name tells you all you need to know.
SkyFeistyLlama8@reddit
The Venn diagram between crypto fools and AI shills is nearly the same damn circle. Sam Altman and Elon Musk sit at the top of this ponzi pyramid.
It makes a mockery of everyone else trying to use LLMs and AI in general for productivity.
I just wish some hack tells OpenClaw crypto bots to send all their coins to a burn address.
