I did inventory one year on Christmas break for a horse accessories warehouse. They custom made saddles, all the gear, everything too. The old guy I was paired with for inventory for a few days said that shampoo and conditioner were big sellers for them because, ' women like using it on their own hair....' then he goes, '... well we also outfit a lot of people for saddles they wear on their backs, we make the whips, all that custom stuff too'. He shrugged. 18 year old me was like wait, what?
I remember 30 years ago, a local mom and pops VHS and video game rental place and store opened an "adult room (18+ only)." He said that room, 1/10th the store, made half the money of the store the first month it was open.
Our neighbor 2 houses down had a local chain of adult video stores with like 3 or 4 locations throughout the city, and they were doing WELL. The funny thing was that the neighbor that lived between us owned a christian book store in town.
We've got one here locally that has been in the same location for at least 30 years. During that time every other business in the center has closed down. Like the whole shopping center is deserted, except for that one shop... lol.
God I think it was that show, definitely a ācableā show late night but it was about men in Asian countries being able to go into body modification shops and get like, soft styrofoam balls sewed into the bottom of their cocks to increase girth and tactile feel.
They were like the size of M&Ms and they would add 3-4 apparently.
Kinda freaked me out as a kid lol pretty sure it was real sex though because we didnāt have anything more than HBO.

Go to private dungeons and we see them. Here in Portland, OR there was a group of them that got in horse fetish fear and pull a cart. Itās hot but also an extremely expensive kink. I went to Kinkfest one year and got to go on a pony ride. These babes pulled the cart. It was gorgeous.
There was a club called Kinkys in Dallas (Lower Greenville) that had a guy in all leather, fitted with a saddle, and you could pay for a lap around the bar.
That was a mild use for that saddle.
Pony play is one of the few things I havenāt actually gotten to do in person as a pretty niche-forward domme. My wife bought this for our shower last week. She saw it in the store and was so excited to show me. My sister and mom loved this stuff growing up, so did her's.
It's decent shampoo, I guess, I mean it sucks that I crave oats and carrots now but it could be worse.
My grandma kept this in her camper for when we went to the beach (she herself I think used suave in her home shower but I had a lot of hair) and she swore left and right that this would take the salt out of my hair at the beach campground showers and boy do I remember being in those cold-to-tepid tiled punch button showers with her scrubbing the life out of my hair and then drenching with the conditioner and using her 90ās teal and pink thick tooth comb through my hair. And to be really fair to her, I was just walking around with a luscious mane once it dried. A little air frizzled, but that shit was healthy.
I remember one day I had a super knot she couldnāt get out so she shouted at my grandpa at the shower next to us, wrapped me up, and I stood in the dying sun while he hummed an opera that had been on the radio. He did a tug with the comb and then just said a bunch of words, moved a bunch of hair, went back to humming, went āohhhoh, that the guyā hummed the big finale, twisted my hair in his fingers, and then ran the comb down three times clean and said āalright, youāre good!ā
I asked him later how he did it, I had chronically knotty hair, and he said āwhen you work with fishing line, you have to work with it, not against it. I just did the opposite of the knot.ā Which to this day tells me nothing about hair knots on my own head but does tell me everything about the knots on others.
Hell, when Iād bathe my horses on a hot day, and Iād have them drying off on the hot-walker, Iād finish by washing my hair too - right from the hose - the cold water would make my hair super shiny and the M&T made it silky soft - it was amazing (and super refreshing on 90+ degree day)

Whatās funny is my dadās ex-girlfriend used to use this when we were kids and they both had horses. I always thought it was weird that they kept horseās shampoo in our shower š I literally didnāt know until many many many years later that it was for humans.
Yep. Me and all my friends used it. I don't know why it was so popular, but its really funny thinking back on all us baby bats using the freaking horse shampoo.

My sum knowledge of this product comes form an episode of "Extreme Cheapskates" where some lady purchased a couple of (half used!) bottle of this for her beauty salon!
It's really not. Cheap shampoo with cheap ingredients and loads of sodium lauryl sulfate so that it foams a lot - it can be really drying and irritate skin. It's not so bad if you're prone to oily hair, and it's great at removing actual dirt and filth - which is why it works so well on horse's tails.
Were.... People using these?!? I remember them but mostly because I spent a lot of time at a horse barn. I saw this post and was like... Oh! More country folk! Nope. Y'all just weird. š
I remember being very confused the first time I saw this in a people store. Even moreso when I saw the price - the cheapest, shittiest horse shampoo selling for 25% more because everyone thought they unlocked some well-kept stable secret?
I use the conditioner mixed with water in a spray bottle. I lube up the inside of my wetsuit with it so I can slide right in. Itās the unlined wetsuit, so it needs to get slick.
Used this for years, and I was firmly in the camp of it definitely made my hair grow faster and stronger.
Years ago, my husband (still dating at the time) worked for a guy who had a big company party on his property, where he owned horses. He was giving us a tour of the stables and I saw bottles of this around the premises. I said oh hey - thatās the same stuff I use! I think he thought I was cracking a joke. lol.
One of my stepmothers used this stuff. She was a beautician and a horse girl, and her hair looked just like horse girl that Dylan McKay [presumably] boned.Ā
I've used that. It's pretty good stuff. My daughter had a lot of hair and used to buy it, and I'd just use whatever shampoo was closest. Didn't smell bad, left my hair (what little I had) pretty soft. Overall, 4.5 stars.

My best friend started using this when I moved away to college. Stayed at his place one time when I was back home and had many questions.

I use the conditioner mixed with water in a spray bottle. I lube up the inside of my wetsuit with it so I can slide right in. Itās the unlined wetsuit, so it needs to get slick.

Me too. I buy my conditioner at the same store I buy my welding supplies.

I think he thought I was cracking a joke. lol.

My Mom bought this stuff thinking it was actually for her horses .
_SmashLampjaw_@reddit
... It's absolutely meant for horses!
Fantastic-Spinach297@reddit
It is. Its also for human hair, but its pet safe, too.
Notchersfireroad@reddit
I just remember always seeing the bottle of shampoo in our tack room. I can't recall her ever shampooing a horse either lol.
Large-Inspection-487@reddit
Itās not??
Mammoth_Ad_4806@reddit
One of my stepmothers used this stuff. She was a beautician and a horse girl, and her hair looked just like horse girl that Dylan McKay [presumably] boned.Ā
rharper38@reddit
I used it on my hair a lot. Now I prefer it to wash the dogs.
But we still use hoof cream and have added horse liniment since we are old and are in pain a lot. I swear by horse liniment.
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
Where do you rub it?

We have a bottle of each under the sink for backup.

I've used that. It's pretty good stuff. My daughter had a lot of hair and used to buy it, and I'd just use whatever shampoo was closest. Didn't smell bad, left my hair (what little I had) pretty soft. Overall, 4.5 stars.
Byx222@reddit
Love. I started using it like 1998. I still use them today. I used to go to Sallyās to pick them up. Now Amazon.
