“Long awaited” made me roll my eyes. I don’t think anyone believes this project is moving forward.

Im gonna write it down somewhere so my grandchildren can read it.
"They ever build that stupid midtown yet? Should have kept the mall open."

Dallas express sucks. It’s just billionaire propaganda, bullshit, and misinformation.

Silly Dallas. How is Midtown going to be north of Uptown?
ZTYTHYZ@reddit
There’s already a Dallas Midtown in Vickery Meadows
arlenroy@reddit
Right? I drive by this place going to work every day, when I see the sign I always think "how the fuck is far north Dallas considered midtown?". From that block you're pretty close to the border of Addison, to me midtown would be the Vickery Meadows area, like you said. I just want the thing finished, or started, just do something besides talking about it.

Addison is only 5 sq miles- Dallas basically surrounds Addison. Far North Dallas is north of Addison. Midtown is not quite the middle point between downtown and the tip of Far North Dallas, but it's pretty close. IMO it's not the worst name, but something like Valley View would have more historic connections.

If this is successful and that's a big if, then we might see something like old east Dallas or old lake highlands. The uptown we know today could become old uptown. Who knows, maybe old uptown could become the official Downtown DFW.
ShimeUnter@reddit
Uptown is north of downtown and midtown is between North Dallas and downtown. It's like a math problem:)

Zombie project Dallas Midtown breaks ground for a 2nd or 3rd time. They broke ground in November 2025 also.

Yep. 11/21/25
This was not the "ground breaking" but the actual visible commencement of work on the project. Now I have to go wash my eyeballs after lending them, and my click, to Monty Bennett's rag.
