Does the UK permit passing down your bones to family?

I want my entire skeleton cleaned and passed down when I pass. No cremation, use for science, no actual bone withheld.
Is this possible? The USA doesn't allow this for whatever reasons. Heard a rumor that the UK may allow it. Any knowledge here?

If they own, you are allowed to be buried in one of your family’s gardens.
Don’t embalm, bury, wait a couple of years and then under the cover of darkness dig you up.

Have you asked your family if they want your skeleton?

It will be kept and carved, there is a want and belief system behind it that is reciprocated in my family.

This is hardcore; I love it.
Sadly I'm pretty sure it's not legal.
You might have to use the old inheritance tax dodge of handing over bones prior to death.

I'm going to speak to a UK lawyer after I get some leads from this post. If it isn't, I'm going to find somewhere that allows it and try to become a citizen before I pass.
I wouldn't necessarily call it hardcore. Alot of cultures did this practice to honor their bloodline and keep the essence of spirit of those who pass around. Cleaning the bones isn't really the problem unless it was the family having to do it.
Would you rather have your bones turnt into carved art for others to appreciate and honor? Or be burnt in a fire, grinded, and converted into dust to be spread on the beach or off a cliff? I'd take being turnt into art any day.

You're right, you know. Why is it the government's business what people do with their bones?

That made me chuckle. But, there is no true harm that can be done with human bones. Sure, you can hit someone over the head with a human skull, but you can also do that with a hammer. I really fail to see any systemic issues from the -private- use of bones. The sale for profit of them - a myriad of issues and ill-recieved remains.
If someone lives a whole life, I feel like we have the right to dictate where our body goes, as it is the most sacred thing we have ever dealt with.
And, it's not like criminals and high-class people aren't owning and distributing human remains anyways. I've seen the trade myself in the USA. It's immoral, which is exactly why I feel like there should be a legal system set up for it.
Bad people will do bad things anyway, there's no workaround.

Family absolutely does not want a skeleton, wtf and OP is insisting as a final act of fuck you.
Family INSIST on having the bones for whatever weird reason.
dennis3282@reddit
Seems like OP insists lol

I'm not sure about a whole skeleton, but there have been various actors whose wills stated their skulls were to be left to companies, so that they might be used for performances of, for instance, Hamlet. There's also a surprising number of skulls and skeletons in private hands (moreso from historic sources, admittedly), so I'm sure that there's at least some legislation which addresses the inheritance of bones.

I want my major bones to be spread out and buried one at a time in the gardens of people I don't like. Just leave them sticking out of the ground slightly, then have my friends report them.

Wow. Seems like I’ve finally found something that the USA and I agree on…

You must like governments having control over -your- body and what is done with it. Do you live for yourself, or your system?
I did not spend my life working and taking care of myself for a government to tell me I have to be buried, cremated, or donated. I should have the right to give my remains to who I please, and I do not want to spend my final years in a country that disagrees with this practice.

Curious to know what you disagree about donating your body to science?

Yup, I see what you did there…

Probably not, but check out the Human Tissue Act. There may be loopholes...
