Is a China fat tire ebike under 1000 better choice than a rear hub conversion install. Im trying to figure out what works best dudes, commutes to work. Save gas. 🤔

I love my Chinese moped style e bike lol. I actually recently tried a lectric foldable ebike and it was nice, but it made me want to ride my moped style one again.
TST sells Chinese bikes, but their batteries are UL certified, water proof, and hasn’t given me any issues in 500miles. They also have a warranty and if you’re in CA you can pick up your bike from their warehouse in Ontario.
Moped style bikes feel pretty different than a regular bicycle, something to also consider maybe

I've had My Himiway cruiser for 6 years at almost 15 thousand miles, with no issues other than general maintenance, best investment ever made at 1,500.00. Now going for about 1,000.00 bucks new.

Get a good (steel frame) used bike and a hub conversion. Better would be a Bafang mid motor.

I just bought a HIKEEP Chinese fat tire moto style bike. I have about 10 miles on it and for first impressions I'm generally happy with it for the price. I have some regret about not getting a geared hub or mid drive because I have some steeper trails where that would be helpful. As far as on the road the bike is very comfortable to ride if you are primarily using the throttle. Pedaling and pedal assist is somewhat uncomfortable on the moto style bikes with a fixed seat. If you want to maximize pedal assist, I'd consider a traditional bike style with adjustable seat. I like the fat tire + suspension with either style.

I just ordered a custom QS205 50H V3 5T hub motor from QSmotor in China, I spent $450 DDP. My battery which is 72v cost $840 DDP from China. Spent $1200 on the bike and controller. So right around $2500 for a beastly 72v/30ah commuter that gets me 35 miles of range at 45mph cruising. Worth every penny.

It depends on the bike receiving the rear hub (consider at least a geared hub motor if you have hills, or mid-motor if they are large). It should be in good condition and able to withstand the higher speeds of an ebike. Disc brakes and good lighting are a must. Also consider your local road laws, more legislation is on the way due to youth injuries.

That's actually kinda hard to say, it depends on your bike and circumstances. I'd personally say those hub conversions are valuable because you can be sure to buy the current standardized parts and that guarantees it's not a pain in the ass to fix when you need to. That and the Chinese bikes/mopeds are hard to predict on what quality you get. Some of them are actually really good. And some of them are welded-together junk with a battery. They're mass produced in china mostly to solve a population issue in city centers so they have a pretty variable quality control.
I'd edge it out and give it to the conversion kit if you're on a budget, but if you can find an amazon bike that has a history of real reviews and people looking at it they aren't always bad. I got one last summer and all it requires is to be regularly maintenanced like you would a moped.
