Best way to set default font for Word / Outlook

Hi Guys,
We have the font "DM Sans" that i've installed on all computers.
I need to figure out how to set it as the default font when using Word / Outlook.
In particular, it shows up as "DM Sans 14pt" from the drop down.
What is the best way for me to go about this?
tia.

Do all your external email recipients have this font as well?

Setting a default font can be done by editing the Normal.dotm file or use group policy if you have Active Directory or the computers are Entra joined.

Piggybacking off of this comment, this is the guide I followed to configure this Word Standard Template with Intune (Normal.dotm) | scloud

If you use M365 Exchange Online you can set fonts for OWA via PowrShell. I’ve got a script to set fonts for the full client , DM me on Monday if you are still having issues and I can share.

We do it by deploying Office templates that have styles with the chosen font(s) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/organization-assets-library I don’t know if this does anything with Outlook though. We only use it for Word/PowerPoint, and it only works if people use the template. If they just open a blank doc and start typing then it doesn’t have anything.

I remember they dropped normal.doc in favor of the Styles section. So it has something to do with setting a default style, but I don't remember if it's group policy or registry or an XML file or what. But that is the section that controls it.
