That's what I'm thinking. Oddly, this is the second image posted to this sub involving heard management (or something similar). No one had any info for that one either
I didn't think it was possible, but you all have now added smell to my recall of posts and thing in this sub. My Uncle was a vet, private practice and stockyard on the weekend.
Apple really missed an opportunity not to go fully in on a portable II. They almost had it with the IIc and the flat panel display for it. Just needed a battery of some sort to complete the ensemble.
They could have designed one that drew power from a car cigarette lighter, of course then they'd have problems with people leaving 5.25 disks in their cars, which would have been an issue.
I took my vic20 + cassette drive to my grandma's camper a few times. Was kinda funny when I ran a program that sounded like a telephone ringing and everyone was like huh? Where the hell.
I'm the first person I know to have used a computer in the damn woods.

What's going on here?

Probably recording weights. I helped do this in the 90s with slightly more modern equipment.
There would be weigh bridge under the chute, and you can also record vaccinations, etc. Also perform the old kind of AI if you're feeling frisky.

Wait. Isn't there a movie or TV show about an autistic lady who figured out cow things?

Early cattle ranching the way it was meant to be done, before the iPhone.

Yep, confirmed. Apple ][ or ][+ (more likely) with a Disk ][.
