My collection of "49" rifles.
Can you spot the imposters hidden among them?
Yes, I know the irony that these are all European, where it is 9/4 today.

Which rebel group are we outfitting today?

Based on the 5 different calibers pictured here, I'd say a very unlucky one.

Sounds like the perfect assortment of rifles for the Elbonian military then

Ah, yes, the mighty and feared Elbonian military

So THATS where all the FN49s went.
Which caliber is your favorite? I own a relatively unfortunate amount of 8mm rifles so I feel like an Egyptian one would be right up my alley, but I also am sitting on crates and crates of 308 that I need a rifle to go through

I shoot the .308 and the .30-06 FNs mostly, but that's due to ammo availability and the fact that 8mm FN49s are known to have occasional OOB detonations. I really don't want to blow up my numbers matching Egyptian, which was surprisingly hard to find. The 7mm is definitely the most pleasant to shoot with the smaller cartridge and muzzle brake

Interesting. I have a hakim so I think I'll pass on owning a second 8mm that may blow up in my face. I didn't know the FNs suffered from that issue too. 308 would be preferred but the ones I've seen are quite expensive, relatively.
Thanks for the info

You're welcome. For some reason the Egyptian military specced their 49s without the "Firing Pin Safety Stop", so while OOB are rare, they are more likely to happen on the 8mm rifles. They were the only contract to specifically requested that safety stop be removed for some reason.

Five-hundred SAFNs
Shoutout to the FN49 for being one of those guns you could acquire in Illinois with their god awful PICA AWB

You might be able to get a MAS in Illinois if you take the grenade launcher off. Ten round magazines is all they ever made for them
Kokabim@reddit
Cool MASs. I looked for one of the 308 conversions for a long time

FNs are from top to bottom: Venezuelan, Egyptian, Luxembourgish, Colombian, Luxembourgish Sniper, Belgian Air Force, Argentine.
The MAS rifles are all French, except the one in the middle is a Syrian contract rifle.
