Also, India has more people than china, but is only 5th on the GDP scale. On a per capita basis, India has 5x less GDP per capita compared to China.

We don't do stuff that doesn't make economic sense, because we don't have to artificially prop up our economy, it's already the largest in the world by a wide margin. It's much more difficult to automate the physical than it is the digital however. So progress in this area will be much slower. It's easier if it's designed with automation in mind. Not so much if it's a legacy set up

There is 1.5 billion people in china. They at most do 1000 executions per year. Honestly if killing 1000 criminals means a really safe society, sounds like a great deal then. However, i am trying to explain to you that 1000 less criminals does not make up the difference, the USA has 1.80 million prisoners, whereas china has 1.69 million, for a country 5 times the USA in population.
Also china is indeed quite diverse, so much so that people from different cities frequently dont understand each others speech and have to write. Just cause they all call themselves chinese doesnt mean there arent a shit ton of local cultures.
