The strait of Hormuz is closed again, but it does not only affect Oil.
Also Helium, helium is needed in all of semi-conductor industry. Helium can't be stored (it leaks). If this continues the whole industry will not be able to make parts.

A computer is a once in a 4-5 years expense? It is always funny to me people are so dramatic about 100 dollar/euro/pound more or less.

how about a 3-400% increase in RAM prices ? That wasn't just a 100$ event. My message is humble, I believe we will see another hardware price increase.

yeah some people live in lala land. The ram I bought last year in Jan is now worth 7x more. But I guess the people who cant do simple math come to the conclusion its only a few bucks.

server RAM went 1000%

you dont get out much, PC prices are starting to get crazy. Even the mechanical hdd drives have 2-3x in the last year

Yeah, I’m dusting 2 1TB HDDs to hook them back to store a bit of files.

as I've wrote multiple times already, all these heliums and wars are just an excuse, look at the things globally: the globo-shlomo does not want you to own the personal equipment, you must rent the equipment from them.

Very rude comment but let me summarize current situation from 4 sources with an LLM: Chipmakers are already raising prices or planning increases (~10–15%) ftcelectronics.com Helium prices have reportedly spiked >50% in the current situation ftcelectronics.com Energy costs are rising and fabs pass some of that to customers Business Insider PC components (chips, PCBs, materials) are seeing broad cost increases and delays

I'm sorry. If the LLMs say it's true, then it's totally true, you're right. In fact whenever i need macro economic advice, i go to reddit and listen to users with "love" in the name and bananas as icons, because i once met an LLM that was into crystal ball reading that said that your mom liked going commando, in fact.
#science.

It still more accurate than the best economist available.
But, the bar is already low.
