Checklist share

Hi,
I am a huge fun of checklists, I have one for leaving for school in the morning with kids. I will be chartering a sailboat this June. I have chartered before but always boats which I know fairly well and have sailed before. This is time it is different I have never sailed this boat, so I am trying to make myself a checklist of things I should ask about before. Many things are obvious like where is the shore power plug, but there must be some many things I will miss the first time around. I am sure there is some surgeon, pilot or otherwise wise individual here who loves their checklist. Would you share yours for taking out a boat you don't know well, pretty please.

Things I check in every boat I get on
Battery switch Bilge Pump Through Hulls Pump out system/overboard discharge from heads vs tank How to operate heads Tank locations water fuel black and grey Radio EPIRB PFD/survival suit location Life raft (up to date and hydrostatic release installed properly) Emergency food and water (extended trips) Fire extinguishers and fixed fire fighting system Med kit Chain plates and standing rigging fittings Fuel shut off for engine and for galley Engine oil and trans oil Radars if equipped. Sound device (mounted or hand held) Flares Ground tackle
For getting underway at my previous job it was check radars, radio, survival gear have updated crew list and updated destination on AIS. Test horn and steering block to block and propulsion check forward and revers.
I am not kidding about every vessel I get on. I check life rafts of ferries when I take them. Habit of being a safety officer.

This is great, and absolute common sense, thank you.

It’s probably more and to be honest if I can get into the rig I do a full rig check. But my background is large ocean going sailing vessels so high consequence if I missed something

Also I don’t know why it came out as a block of text it was a list but it didn’t take. I’ll try and edit it.

Here's a copy of my catamaran spreadsheet.
It has a bunch of tabs including maintenance schedules, sailing log, spare parts, power budget, trip provisioning, tool inventory, safety gear, medical stuff, risk register, and cabling chart.. however, in the middle somewhere is a standard operating procedure sheet which might be useful for you to adapt.

Make a copy if you like, and change to your heart's content.
