What are Dental implant cost in your area ?

I’ve been quoted £4261 for a single front tooth implant including tooth extraction and porcelain crown , I’ve also paid £245 on top of this to have CT scan and may have to pay an extra £700 for bone augmentation , ( dentist said they didn’t think so after a quick look at CT scan but they would know better after deeper look ) this is with my local dentist .
After a look online I see this maybe in the top price bracket for this procedure . Wondering what prices people have paid for this procedure recently and which area you live in ? I am in northeast .
Also wondering if I can request copy’s of my CT scan ?
Thanks in advance

£3500 in Kendal plus 129 for consultation, 355 for extraction, haven’t seen a price for the temporary denture yet, probably like 500+ at these prices
I got one done for 3000 plus I think it was 300 for the denture and 200 for extraction 3.5 years ago but the guy has retired now sadly.
Might ask the place I was originally referred to for consultation in Penrith as they list 200 for extractions and verbally said about 3k for implant. I don’t really want to be paying out 4.5k when I could be paying out 3.5 and a slightly longer drive.

I paid £4500 for an implant that failed back in late 2010s. A friend has just been quoted £10k for the same work at another local dentist. I think South Cumbria might be the most expensive place in the country for it.

How did it fail ?

It developed an infection above the gum line, which showed up as a tiny little boil that would come and go with antibiotics. (Top Front tooth)
Eventually the dentist agreed that there was nothing for it but removing the implant, cleaning the bone out and letting it heal.
When he removed it, it was obvious the jaw hadn't grown around the implant properly because of this pocket of infection. He thinks it must have been from a tiny microscopic bit of original tooth material left behind.
I had a second opinion somewhere else and they agreed with his assessment.
The boil showed up within 3 months of getting the implant but because he didn't remove it until after 1 year had passed he wouldn't cover it on his guarantee so I was £4.5k down with no tooth to show for it. (If I hadn't been so young when it happened I would have pushed back at the time but I wasn't confident enough to do it then)
I've had a temporary/adhesive bridge since then as I can't afford another implant and dont want to damage the two teeth next to it with those more permanent crown style bridges. I've not had any complaints so far about my bridge, but I am aware the jaw bone will be deteriorating slowly, so maybe an implant wouldn't be possible in the future.

Wow that’s somewhat terrifying. Now I’m paranoid that something will happen to mine, although it’s been okay for 3.5 years so far
Just digging because my second front tooth needs one now (broke them both when I was a kid). Unfortunately the guy I went to last time retired so it’s a place in Kendal who list the price as “from £3500”, extractions over £300, just… yikes. I’d already been referred for an examination up in Penrith which was looking a bit less insane costs wise and the only reason I got referred to this Kendal one was basically a miscommunication with my main dentist.
Now I’m just scared that especially if I go to this expensive one, they’ll go “ohhh your previous implant isn’t looking so good either” for whatever reason and completely raid my life savings.

That is scandalous that the original dentist didn’t cover the procedure under their guarantee.

Implant £1550 and crown £1100 at Richmond dental centre with Dr. Tiago, tho in my case it was the back tooth and I didn’t need bone augmentation

In Turkey, dental treatment is available at these prices, and you receive high quality service and professional care. I’d like to be treated there.

I work in a dentist (north east area) £2800 including crown for a singular tooth, bone grafting is extra as are scans so i would say about £3200 all in?
Primary-Shine-7951@reddit
How much would they charge just for the crown when it need to be replaced

What dentist do you work for ? I’m happy to travel
BTZ-25@reddit
Screw that. I would literally fly to Colombia stay in a 5 star hotel and get all done for half this price.
This guy is great.

Go abroad. And I’m not implying Turkey. There’s plenty of other places with incredible dental care I got an implant for €1200. All in, scans and all. 2 appointments needed

I’ve not got one but my local dentist advertises dental implants for £2300 per tooth.
Dear_Anything_4933@reddit (OP)
What is your local dentist called ?
smushs88@reddit
Inspire dental - they have a couple of locations down south.

£2.8k for a titanium implant over 4 appointments (Glasgow). Was told about augmentation being £300 or so but it wasn’t needed. Excellent job.

Could you let me know too please
Available_Manner7856@reddit
Could you let me know the practice you went to?

Sounds like a ripoff for a few hours work. Ask him/her how many implants they've done in their career so far might be a staring point? Although a starting point for what I don't know.
Why isn't this regulated properly? What's so special about UK dentistry and dentists that they can just make up prices?
I've heard Belgrade is good and not too far away.
ermCaz@reddit
Such a dumb comment.. you're paying for the expertise, not the time it takes.
bishibashi@reddit
Good point, it is just a few hours work. OP I’ll do you an implant for 300 quid.

Fuji 9, that's what you need

I have power tools, I'll bring them along and we can have a few beers beforehand to steady the hands.

It’s almost like the more skilled someone is the more they can charge for a service.
Affectionate_Team572@reddit
I had bone graft, gum graft and an implant done cost was 4500 back in 2023 took 6 months and 4 or 5 visits..
silentv0ices@reddit
£1200 medellin Colombia. That was for everything. They have a thriving dental tourism and that was for a expensive dentist.
gazchap@reddit
And as an added bonus, the stuff they give you prior to the op really knocks you out.
Only problem is, it can be a little addictive.
silentv0ices@reddit
Ahah it's the stuff the girls in the bars will try and give you is the scary stuff. People wake up 2 days later with empty bank accounts.
WestleyMc@reddit
I was quoted £1500 for a rear implant..
WelfordNelferd@reddit
I'm also in the NE, and am 75% of the way to getting two implants (i.e. posts are in and healing, and I'll get the actual teeth in another month of so). Including bone augmentation for both areas, they were right about $5K each.

Free via public healthcare or 700-1000 in private surgery in Budapest... There is things to miss even in the poorest country of the EU :)
bishibashi@reddit
I would miss the baths. Only been a couple of times but being able to basically get a season ticket from your doctor (as I understand it) is amazing. Got easily beaten at chess by a regular there.
KeyJunket1175@reddit
Oh yes. You could also get an annual thermal pass for about £70 which gives you infinite number of reduced price visits to any thermal baths, I usually went to Gellert or Rudas, was around £10 for a full day ticket. Incredible value.

Am in Kent. The dentist at my practice charges £2750
steve4982@reddit
Paid 2 yr ago just under £3k for a molar porcelain implant including scans and removals at Basingstoke, that tooth gave me pain for over five years and now the replacement is identical but pain free, best thing I ever did
Tigweg@reddit
I realise that this is slightly off the wall, but you could get it done and have a 1 month holiday in Vietnam for much less than £4k. My Facebook feed is full of ads for implants in Hanoi, where I live, for less than £400.
bishibashi@reddit
Price sounds high but not unrealistically so, as you say higher end of bracket. My dentist won’t do implants himself, he gets a specialist in. In his own words he can and has done implants but thinks his patients prefer someone who’s done thousands of them to someone who’s done 20 or so. Mainly because of the high cost and chance of failure.
Substantial-Bug-4998@reddit
Back in 2020 I smashed 3.5 teeth out and had to have:
1 extraction 2 root canals 1 implant & crown Gum contouring Rebuild of tooth that the 3rd was broken off
That cost 5500 in London
