The average age of marriage in Japan is around 30. Reddit's echo chamber is a real cancer. People are stuck in stereotypes from 30 years ago and can't understand that times have changed.
Yeah, I recently played a remake of a childhood game, the StarForce megaman games, they have this guy in them, and I always found it hilarious as a kid, now as an adult, I'm like... Yeah...
But does it cover that the two groups barely even want to talk to each other? SK is like the whole gender relations from a high level being like an old married couple that dislike each other but can't get divorced.
I don’t really understand this logic? Phones in Saudi Arabia don’t have this feature, does it make them less misogynistic? The presence of a countermeasure does not imply they are more guilty than other countries. Not trying to be smug, just trying to understand
Just because Saudi Arabia doesn't care about their misogynism doesn't mean it's not present in both. The point is that Japan made it mandatory for a reason, and maybe Saudi Arabia should too.
Idk where this nose bleed thing originated from? The western version of your eyes becoming enlarged makes a bit more sense atleast. Idk why would someone get a nose bleed from seeing a pair of underwear?
Where do you talk to this Japanese dude for 15 minutes? Twitter?
And let's not pretend westerners are any better, especially the Christians. Half of Americans are conservatives and most male Europeans are probably worse.
I really feel it's very much related to how stupidly repressive the country is. I know it's also the fetish/weird shit capital of the world, but it's insanely how frowned upon it is. Also, I could be wrong, but imo the objectification of women is directly corelated to how repressed/conservative a nation is.
Also, if you're at work/school 30 hours a day then you're not gonna have the time to actually develop charisma to be a good conversationalist.
The “Women are Christmas cakes” rhetoric is considered as misogynistic and out-dated by most younger generations. The only people saying it are people who are terminally online.
You’re underestimating the amount of middle aged Japanese men in their parent’s homes roaming around X. Japan’s struggling with fertility for a reason bruh
Do they? Seems like half of japanese food is fried or deep fried. Seafood, several european countries have good seafood like southern europe, Ireland and Norway. Besides genetics, I'm more inclined to believe the east asian culture of skinscare, umbrellas to hide from the sun, and makeup because of beauty standards, especially in Korea.
Honestly after having being there for a month i'd say most japanese food is actually "boiled" in some way or another. They don't actually just put things in a pot, is mostly pan sauces and such but most sauces actually have little to no oil and is mostly water, soju or some kind of soy sauce oister sauce.
And it tastes mostly like boiled food, most fried stuff like katsudon and such dishes they garnish it with vegetables instead of europe when you'd see a deep friend chicken breasts with fries on the side they'd put cabbage on the side with some light sauce on it.
Their portions are really small too, they usually have 4 main dishes instead of 3 courses but all small portioned, some protein in the form of fish and stake, a side of white rice, a small salad and some pickled vegetables. They mostly don't have dessert at home and if they do its like a single cookie and such, really small portions.
All good points, and that's true, even something like katsudon will usually only be that part that's fried and will have rice and maybe vegetables as a side, whereas western countries often add fries.
Yep, its like a balance thing? I mean i'd demolish deep fried chicken with fries and prefer it, but my impression is that such dishes are seen as child dishes there, perfectly normal for a kid to want a deep fried chicken with fries, whereas if you are an adult it gives the vibe of: "Really dude? You a grown man, have some love for yourself" kind of feeling to them even if they don't show it, auto flagelation is a big part in their culture for the dumbest things 😅, love japan by the way, i wanna go back someday without a doubt, and love their food, but i couldn't see myself eating their food 24/7 and most places there are japanese cuisine, and if you eat out european dishes on the daily i assure you you'll get fat real quick, their own twist on european cuisine almost always involves some sweet twist on a sauce to make it less savoury for their palates and i bet it makes it VERY high in sugar.
your impression of their food stems from western japanese restaurants which serve a lot of fried and saucy food. In reality their diet is mostly grilled fish and rice
That's a plus and part of why they tend to age gracefully. Bazongas the size of basketballs and a dumptruck with its own gravitational pull would age terribly.
I live next to a large Korean church, and I don’t know exactly how old they are but most of the middle aged women I’ve seen there are still very attractive.
We met at work. Risky I know, because of the sheer number of stories I've heard from people that dated someone at their job, and the various issues that happened after they broke up. I got lucky I guess.
Because it's a country of latent (mostly real) pedos. Why is this a new concept to people all of a sudden? That's what 300 years of isolation and incest do with people 🤷🏻♂️
No, anon, these women don't need whiteknighting by an obese chud living in a basement somewhere in Europe or North America; they're still highly desirable and sought after in their own country and the whole "birthday cake" meme is just a cope invented by weebs who think they're somehow going to get all these "unappreciated" women once they find a way to get to Japan.
Most Japanese guys are complete spergs with no confidence when it comes to women. Many want a trad wife who rarely speaks and lets him do what he wants. It's one of the reasons you'll see 4/10 white dudes walking around with model looking wives in Japan.
In my experience, from having lived in Japan for a few years, most Japanese men aren't "spergs" and that vision comes from a weird mix of weeb jealousy and white supremacism. Like everywhere else, in Japan there are all kinds of men (and women), from arrogant assholes, to fuckboys (and girls), to nerds to 'boring', and everything in between. And if there's one generalization we can make is that the men over there definitely aren't waiting for white 4chan users to teach them how to properly treat their women.
Where did you live, cause that's going to make a huge difference to your experience. For example I find Osaka dudes to be very laid back and easy going. If you lived in Kansai or Tokyo, you're going to have a very different perspective.I live in a conservative area known for a type of guy called 九州男児, where a lot of guys are upright and awkward.
I spent a year in Kyoto doing an academic exchange and a few years later I worked for two in Osaka as a guest lecturer, although I traveled to Tokyo (and Yokohama) as much as I could during that time and also went to Fukuoka for like a month during a holiday. All I can say is that I didn't get the impression that Japanese guys were all shy and weird (and raging misogynists) like many people want to portray them as. There's a really wide variety of people there, which was a pleasant surprise precisely because I also believed in the idea of the Japanese as a monolith before actually seeing the country for myself.
They aren't all misogynists, saying everyone in a country is like anything is stupid. Japanese are people, and there's all varieties of people. What is true is that they grow up in a culture that values traditional values. As such, many of the guys want quiet wives who will cook and look after them. Thatc society also shuns individualism which leads to low self confidence and awkwardness.

Then the western side of the internet imported this shit when they began calling a 30 year old women haga and hagmaxing when you're going after these 30-something year old women.
Japenis post on Reddit? I'm expecting one of the following to be mentioned: shutter cameras, Junko, train cars, 931 or something along the lines of "actually, they deserved it."
Funny country because people will either treat it as a backwards society with issues that cannot be found in other places
Or
Have some weird idealised version in their head and think that Sakura-chan (just turned 17 years old) is waiting for her basement dweller husband to save her.
Who cares about nuance though?
maybe the type of media where this is the norm is catered to a demographic of men who enjoys women being punished for not settling for the nerd out of desperation...
