Are you too old to put those fuckets on? Jesus!
_sonidero_@reddit
I bought some on accident and wore them for about a week while working outside everyday and by the weekend my calves were fine but they made my feet swell up twice the size like I had the betes... If you don't need them, don't wear them... My 2 cents...
shuanm@reddit
It takes a couple of breaks, and lots of grunts.
Jennyreviews1@reddit
I wear mine standing in the OR. Mine go up to the knee and help me to stand on my feet sometimes 10 hours a day. I think they’re fantastic. I encourage people to wear them if you’re going to be standing on your feet for long periods. It helps their circulatory system.
0the0Entertainment0@reddit
I used to do a sort of reverse somersault gymnastics move, rolling onto my shoulderblades, knees bent with my ass up in the air, feet toward heaven to get one on.
1967punisher@reddit
Ah you did realise it was about socks ..
NortonBurns@reddit
It's a team sport.
I had to wear them after an operation. No way on earth I was going to be able to do those myself.
Fluid_Anywhere_7015@reddit
Hahaha! You win. There's a ritual for me.
Turn the socks inside out.
Reach down and grab the heel part and pull it up.
Sit down on the bed half cross-legged.
Get the foot portion over my foot.
Slide the leg part over my foot and up my calf.
Repeat for the other foot/leg.
Sit down in the goddam recliner until the dizziness passes.

Oh, those fuckets.
quxinot@reddit
While you're shopping in the old people aisle, please look for the assistive device made specifically to help put them on.
Source: Geriatric nurse for two decades. Also, please wave because I'm standing next to you and wondering if I can shout at the manager for putting the ibuprofen on the bottom @#$@#% shelf.
0the0Entertainment0@reddit
Trying to read the fine print on the bottom shelf merchandise?
fallcreekprepper@reddit
Depend on the length and what mmhg they are. I had to wear the knee length ones for a few weeks after my heart surgery and they weren't bad, they were 15-18 mmhg. I recently found out that I have vein insufficiency in my legs and have to wear the thigh length ones in 20-30 mmhg. They are hell to get on and off, not to mention the way they look.
LifeMun@reddit
Did they help?
fallcreekprepper@reddit
A bit, but i have to have ablation therapy done on them. They made me wear them until I have the procedure. At least It's just a couple of more weeks.
LifeMun@reddit
Yeah. I'm wishing you a quick recovery
fallcreekprepper@reddit
Thanks
therelybare5@reddit
Been there, done that! Probably about 8-10 years ago.
KurtStation68@reddit
Is this one of those things I need but don't realize? The only thing I use are glasses.
Elses_pels@reddit
The do nothing for you leg circulation
Mycatreallyhatesyou@reddit
Just ordered my first pair for a long flight. I hope I can put them on.
NoMayoForReal@reddit
I flew in June after not flying for a long time and bam swollen legs and ankles, never happened before. So I bought a pair and flew out west in March and they were magic. So worth it.
Athrynne@reddit
They are so good for flights!
Mycatreallyhatesyou@reddit
Good to hear! A bit nervous because I haven’t flown in 20 years.
aspiegrrrl@reddit
My feet and ankles swell on longer flights, even with compression socks. Wear some loose-fitting sneakers that you can loosen if necessary.
therelybare5@reddit
For me, the right sock is the hardest to get on. My wife suggested sitting down with my right knee up on the bed. That makes it easier to get my right sock on.
Quirky_Commission_56@reddit
My partner is nearly two years younger than I am and occasionally has to wear compression socks because he’s diabetic and has a habit of forgetting his meds at home when he’s at work and when he wears them at home, I have to help him get the damn things on. Which murders my fingers because I broke one of my fingers decades ago.

If he/she doesn’t understand this by now it’s a lost cause.
MaudieLebowski@reddit
Thank you.
MrsClaireUnderwood@reddit
Fucketsss
Head-Major9768@reddit
My hiking 20 something granola kids wear them. Do it!
GnomieOk4136@reddit
Getting them on is fine. Getting them off is the hard part.
LifeMun@reddit
That's a struggle we have to live with I fear
Primary_Difficulty19@reddit
I’ll worry about that when I find some attractive enough I’d deign to wear them. As Fernando used to say “It’s more important to look good than to feel good.”
aran_maybe@reddit
And dahling you look mahvelous
cheesusismygod@reddit
So I actually heard that wearing nitrile gloves helps get them on properly and they really do!! I have had soooo much trouble getting them on and now, as much it sux to have to wear them, its at least easier to get them on.
Junior_Ad_3301@reddit
Thumb reduction surgery?
HangingSnowflake@reddit
Omg, it kills my thumbs to put these on!! By far the worst part, they feel good once they're on but what a struggle.
Junior_Ad_3301@reddit
Lol was talking about the typos but yeah
Diela1968@reddit
Lose the beer gut, it will help you bend over. 😂
Seriously though, clipping toenails is a chore now. Too nearsighted to see what you’re doing, and hard to reach too.
Athrynne@reddit
I gave up and get a pedicure regularly now. Totally worth it.
dj_juliamarie@reddit
I love them. I found cute ones from muk luk
4rt4tt4ck@reddit
I had to buy heated socks this winter.
zoppaTheDim@reddit
….You’re old enough to know socks aren’t one size fits all.
DJ_Vigilance@reddit
Compression socks are!!
T_Noctambulist@reddit
No
Boo-Boo97@reddit
No they aren't. Measure your calfs and buy the correct size
Murky_Possibility_68@reddit
And they come in differing levels of compression.
Cautious_Rain2129@reddit
Pkzip or WinRAR socks?
Sufficient_Stop8381@reddit
…for my weiner
exhaustedoldlady@reddit
There’s a trick to it!!

That person can get their foot closer than I can. I have to sit on the bed and turn sideways so I can bring my foot closer.
exhaustedoldlady@reddit
I sit on the floor and do a half Indian style (this IS the GenX sub) so I can reach my foot.
Being able to get up off the floor is an incredibly important life skill at our age, so this is a great exercise for me. I work in healthcare, wear compression socks to work every day.
rumbo211@reddit
They have zip up compression socks. They also have compression sleeves which work well and are a lot easier to put on.
themungas@reddit
Get these and thank me later https://veos.com.au/products/easyfit-compression-socks
gilbert10ba@reddit
Before trying to put htem on, roll them down so that you just have to pull them over your feet, then roll them up your leg. That's the only way that works for me. Especially the higher compression ones.
DJ_Vigilance@reddit
👆this is the way
Wacko_Banana_Pants@reddit
How old are you? I'm 57 and have no issues putting on compression socks. I don't need them per se but they sure are comfortable. Maybe yours are too firm or too small?
discoprince79@reddit
They need ones you can pump up lol
JoeMagnifico@reddit
I'd like to find some decompression socks.
Haunt_Fox@reddit
You mean the things Erma Bombeck called "Supp hose"?
theserialdeleter@reddit
I suppose.
YesterdayContent854@reddit
I find just a good compressive sock to be wonderful as long as it is over the calf. But I also find toe socks a big game changer too.
Delicious-Disk-122@reddit
Bombas made me a believer in compression socks. My dr insists I wear them given all of my travel and running season is about to start. I have leg sleeves and dare I say they are sexy.
Flat_Demand_8341@reddit
Yup. You need compression socks but can’t bend over enough to put them on. And pull on them. Catch 22
