I saw a BBC documentary where a guy called Gordon Buchanan - wildlife camera man and filmmaker spent weeks with a family and community on a tiny island in the Polynesian islands and they were a fish catching community with the majority of meat coming from the sea mixed with pigs and chickens they kept in small number.
Aside from the fisherman taking then that the fish stocks and numbers had gone vastly downwards in their life time, they were only in their late thirties early forties. These guys would use basic spear propelled via elastic tubing with home made goggles and they would be off lobster hunting for 6, 7, 10 minutes at a time under water and the longest he witnessed was 13 minutes without resurfacing for breath. They were so adept to the sea from such early age that their blood had adjusted with low amounts of oxygen or build up of nitrogen, something like that. Somebody better knowledge can explain the science behind it hopefully.
its no different than the people that descend from the tribes in Peru that live at 14-15000 ft altitude wherer most people wouldnt b able to function at that altitude or the sherpa people of the Himalayan mountains .....evolution is fuckin amazing ain't it
People need to stop getting this close to whales for social media content. She’s inbetween a moving herd of spermehales, it’s beyond dangerous and the whale will get blamed if something happens.
I watched it several times and compared it to other videos of sperm whales and I'm now positive this is AI. In the real videos, all the whales have very different tail shapes and the ones in this video all seem too similar. Also, the whale that swims into frame on the bottom turns so it's upright but the nose doesn't get any wider and blends into the other whale behind it leaving the frame, then when it's passing, the body contracts and expands in a way that I can't explain. And lastly and probably most damingly, none of these whales have remoras hanging onto them which isn't realistic at all. All of the sperm whales in the real videos have at least 10 clinging to them as they swim, even when the tail comes up out of the water bringing the sucker fish with it, they hang on. I rest my case. AI!
While I agree in theory, some yeawho was holding a blue ring octopus. Perhaps someone was unconcerned about the risk with sperm whales? Looks insane x1000.

Breathtaking 😱

This must be AI. Swimming near sperm whales is extremely dangerous.
clairioed@reddit
I agree. It’s also pretty deep for a free dive, no scuba gear, for that long.
Hakuryuu2K@reddit
I agree, something looks really off about the video

This is a legit source. 🤦♂️

According to who? Who is this? What are their credentials?
Just becomes someone posted it on Twitter doesn't mean it's immediately legit?

It's so frustrating for people to be like "ummmm can you PROVE it's AI" when frankly nobody should have to.
This SEEMS real to y'all?

Mum, there is a little human in the way. Just keep swimming Douglas.
