Dueling second gens

Two very different second gens.
The 1978 is set up for handling and braking with wilwood 6 pistons 14 in rotors in front, 4 pistons 11 in rotors in the rear, 18 x9 wheels…..sbc with Muncie 4 speed and 3:23 gear
It stops so hard it will literally makes you nauseous
The 1970 is setup with 700+ hp blown big block Chevy with all the goodies. Aluminum heads, forged rotating assembly, arp studs,
Turbo 400 trans with 4:11 rear…..stock front discs, drum rears, drag pack wheel and tire 15x10 rear and 15x3.5 fronts…. Acceleration in a straight line is absolutely brutal and will break tires at will below 50mph…..
They are both a blast to drive
Which one you taking?

She has definately had a lot of wrenches turned on er….. Thanks Man

Independent rear suspension, 4-link, or stock? Do you have an album of the car on Imgur? I've got a '75 I'm starting my pro touring restoration this summer and am interested in what others have done for grip.

It’s getting a 4 link rear in the near future….. the leaf springs on the live axle isnt cutting it. I do not have an album on Imgur as they do limit how Many you can post and I’m not paying for nothing. I can send you pics of whatever you need. I’m highly recommend coilmover front suspension. It completely changed the cars handling

Yeah, my car's slapper bars are fine for drag, but feel awful for spirited curves.

Right now it’s a factory 10 bolt with aftermarket axles and Yukon posi with a support rear cover. Extended studs round it out.
Flash_Bandicoot@reddit
Love both. But can I get a closer look at that Cutlass?
chuck-u-farley-@reddit (OP)
Yes sir
Flash_Bandicoot@reddit
Dope. I learned to drive on my dad's 72 white Cutlass Supreme. Long story short, he had to sell it after the timing chain broke on the highway and grenaded the motor. It's my goal to get him another before he passes on.

This one is all original, except the wheels, and includes working A/C…..

Those old GM ACs with the giant compressor and r12 were so good you could hang meat in the cabin.
chuck-u-farley-@reddit (OP)
Absolutely! It gets dang cold
Aartus@reddit
I gotta go with the one on the right. My dad had one growing up so its a nostalgia car for me
mcstanky@reddit
Looks wise, I want the '70, but functionally would prefer the '78
direcheetah4579@reddit
That's exactly what I was thinking, swap mechanicals from the 78 to the 70.
deevil_knievel@reddit
Helly yeah, brother!
theonlyjoshy@reddit
I have always wanted a blower. Do you have any sound clips of it?
chuck-u-farley-@reddit (OP)

You have such an awesome driveway.

Believe it or not these are sorta just cars to my family. We don’t own anything new
