A windsurfer encountered a bit of a speed bump while cruising the waters of San Francisco Bay. Luckily, both the windsurfer and whale got out uninjured.

Good thing He could swim!

I can't imagine a whale would make it very far if they couldn't swim

What if he had floaties?
AJPennypacker39@reddit
If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass a-hoppin'.

My favourite Reddit comments are a silly comment followed by an even sillier one. Excellent work, people!

So the whale has its home in the ocean: lives there, feeds there, breeds there and cannot live on land and I believe we should respect this. I remember I was kayaking up near Seattle a while back in what I think was a channel. A few whales came into that section that was separated a bit from the vast ocean. Called a pod I think. Of course I back paddled and then just watched from a safe distance. Not sure why they came in and maybe it was food or something that they like. I just don’t know. There were boats trying to cross this channel where the whales were swimming past. Obviously the boats had to stop and from what I understood they were OK with that. I heard that every so often it appeared to be a common occurrence. An example of man trying to live within and accepting nature instead of man trying to bend nature to fit mans own desires or needs.

I’d shit myself and pass out

If you got hit by a windsurfer?
Dogsarelitty@reddit
If I was on the beach and missed a windsurfer hit a whale right in front of me
MisterRobertParr@reddit
He wasn't fined for harassing a whale?
berusplants@reddit
by the Whaleway Authorities?
deliverance73@reddit
They were busy calculating the whale’s mass.

Shows how close they get to the ships
Baldojess@reddit
How close the ships get to them you mean? That's the whales home.
Okayisaname@reddit
They frequently get hit by ships
berusplants@reddit
That ship is about a kilomoter away. They get much closer than that....

I’ve never been there but San Francisco Bay doesn’t look very big to begin with either. Doesn’t look there’s a lot of room for how busy it seems.
mothernaturesghost@reddit
The Golden Gate Bridge is a mile long and that’s the mouth of the bay. It opens up a bit more.
Next-Lavishness-9101@reddit
Who interviewed the whale to find out if it was uninjured ?
Strange-Woodpecker71@reddit
Glad neithermwere injureed.
madcoins@reddit
There’s clearly too many humans. A whale can’t even grab a breath of air in his ocean?! Probably trying to avoid that giant barge and gets smacked anyway.
berusplants@reddit
It wouldnt be much more than when a small insect hits out skin.
TesseractToo@reddit
That happened a couple years ago in Sydney too but the whale was breaching under him
