Black Americans, what's your relationship with the n-word?

I'm from Latin America and want to expand my understanding of Black Americans' experiences. I've made a conscious effort to educate myself and travel, but my knowledge is still limited, so I have a few genuine questions:
-What is your personal relationship with the n-word? Do you use it in your everyday vocabulary?
-Do you use it interchangeably with words like "dude" or "bro," or does it carry a different weight even in casual use?
-How has its usage shifted across generations? Do you notice differences between Boomers, Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha?
-Has it ever been used against you as a slur, even by another Black person?
These questions come from a place of genuine curiosity and a desire to connect and understand.Thank you

I'd recommend a library. There's tons of books on this subject
