Going to start working on the floor pan soon.
Do I cut out the floorpan and make the patch fit? Do I cut up the patch panel and cut away the floorpan to fit?
A little of both?
So far all the patching I've done has been on flat metal.
Thoughts, comments, and / or concerns?
Thanks!

How much of the floor are you cutting out? Step 1 might be to brace the body so it doesn't twist up when you cut the floor out. If it's just a small piece that isn't necessary.
After that you can do whatever really but I personally try to get the panel as close to what's left of the old one as you can before cutting anything and then cleco or clamp the panels together and cut through them both so you're not only cutting the old one out but also trimming the new one to fit at the same time. Then you just burn it in.

Pretty much that area. Give or take.

How bad is your floor? That would decide it for me.
If you just need to patch a bunch of holes, even real big holes, id just cut out the damage and then put it onto the new floor panel and use it like a template to cut it out.
If you need to replace the entire floor pan, you will need to Xbrace the body, level it all...etc.
