Is there anything good left about the UK ?

I'm 33 (soon to be 34) single and still living with parents. I've been job hunting for the past few months which has been mentally taxing to say the least but have finally been offered a job. The whole thing's just got me abit down even though I'm due to start my new job soon. Looking at house prices on Rightmove is so depressing, there are hardly any shops left in my local village and it feels like loads of pubs have closed and live music is dying. This got me wondering if there are actually any positives to living in the UK anymore ? If so what are some things you enjoy about living here ? I know this seems like a miserable post but I'm curious to hear some positive spins on the current state of things !

Count yourself lucky, a friend of mine (late thirties) was made redundant last October after 7 years with a very reputable financial services company. He's had 1 unsuccessful interview.. Good thing he got a decent severance package..
Many jobs are very come easy go easy at the mo so if the job lasts more than six months think about reposting this - maybe then you will be able to answer your own question.
The 'current state of things' is always changing, it's called natural evolution. You have to find what you want in life - it doesn't come to you on a plate & never has. 😃👍

Pubs and shops are closing because people are choosing social media and Amazon instead. It's not unique to this country
