Have you received your refreshed City of Plano utility bill?

The new design highlights key details, including your account number, due date and total amount due. This is all part of a larger rollout of our new payment portal later this month.
Please note:
- Every account that uses AutoPay will need to re-enroll beginning Monday, April 20, as the new system will not be live until that date.
- When you set up AutoPay at that time, you will be able to save your payment method.
- You will also be able to manage all your accounts from a single login at that time.
- Customer & Utility Services will be contacting customers who use AutoPay.

Did sewer rates just go up? My sewer charges increased 40% from March to April bill!

It would be interesting to hear how many people don't get the message and their bill goes unpaid. I rarely actually read the water bill if it gets lost in my inbox, and even that bill (received March 19) didn't mention that the old autopay enrollment is ending.

It will be a huge number of autopay customers I am certain. I can’t tell you the last time I logged into our account. The email comes saying our balance due and as long as it is $10+/- the average I just move along in life. If the only way we are to know this is to have previously logged in (which is exactly why I have autopay set up for over 20 years now to have it just automatically paid) I would not know if not on Reddit or FB. We even are subscribed to the city enews and last week this was not in that email. There will be thousands and thousands that have not a clue.

Hello, we had a story in the March 17 Plano City News email newsletter: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Plano-City-News--Ways-to-Volunteer-in-Plano-this-Spring.html?soid=1112819780769&aid=L0r0qy3kqeA
We also had a story in the Building Best Neighborhoods Newsletter on April 8: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Attend-the-HOA-Legal-Clinic-and-the-First-Time-Homebuyer-Class.html?soid=1141932857792&aid=45dknJ74znI
Messaging will also continue through the next few weeks. We would also benefit from word-of-mouth, so please tell your friends and neighbors!

This isn’t my job, frankly. You need to be snail mailing and emailing specific emails just about this to your customers on autopay. Not my monkeys and not my circus.
sfa1500@reddit
You complained that they haven't put this news out anywhere, and they showed where they have been putting information out, including posting to reddit. Which is how you learned from it. And they asked in a friendly manner to pass the word along and your reply is essentially "screw everyone else who ignores newsletters like I did"?
Visual_Scientist_298@reddit
I saw it on FB first. But yes. Not my job to tell others that are not subscribed to the city enews or on FB or Reddit.

Wildly hostile.

And yet my water bill due May 10 arrived last night in my inbox and no acknowledgement that I need to re-enroll in autopay. And given comments on other social media platforms of people having no clue except for stumbling upon this large change on social media this really is a s*** show from the City of Excellence.
CallMePickle@reddit
Still hostile.

Are you going to charge us a convenience fee for using a credit card? If there is a convenience charge, are we able to get paper statements in the mail without being charged a paper fee?
Teach1720@reddit
They replied to someone else saying no.
SleeplessInPlano@reddit
For autopay with a credit card, are there now convenience charges?
CityOfPlano@reddit (OP)
No convenience fees will apply to any of the payment options.

Will the new portal work better on mobile?
CityOfPlano@reddit (OP)
This new payment portal will be much more mobile-friendly than our current system.
