It’s up to personal preference and you can’t go wrong with either. I should be getting more steel LPAs within the next few weeks but have the Titanium LPAs in stock if that’s something you’re interested in!

What you're looking for is a Plan B muzzle device to attach to your barrel with Rocksett. Do not use a crushwasher or blue or red loctite; Rocksett is the way to go. That will interface/screw into the Plan B mount that you'll attach to your suppressor (also installed with Rocksett). So basically the Plan B muzzle device and Plan B mount are the bridges connecting your barrel to your suppressor. Plan B is just the thread pattern with tapered interface. It's the lightest, smallest, most efficient system for attaching suppressors to your barrel.

This is opening a can of worms, but what's the deets on flashhider vs. break mount in regards to sound suppression? Speaking strictly about Plan-B mounts, I remember the whole warcomp debacle. (Thanks Pew!!)

Some suppressors are designed with a specific muzzle device in mind which can make a difference in sound suppression, CAT readily discloses which mount they designed their cans around where using that mount does increase suppression, and then some people reach out to other manufacturers to see what they used during testing.

Just in general though comparing random Plan B flash hiders to brakes any sound difference between the two is likely to be negligable.

Really, you want to use a brake if a host is going to be 100% dedicated suppressed since the brake will act as a sacrificial baffle slowing erosion on the actual blast baffle. [1] [2] [3]

Flash hider if it's mixed suppress use since brakes can be pretty unbearable unsuppressed. Be careful depending on application/barrel length/suppressor material because open-tine flash hiders can actually focus the blast on the blast baffle and increase erosion. [1] [2] [3]

I know it’s not what you asked but my understanding is that especially for higher pressure rounds like 223/556/300 you want to go with a brake so that the baffles in your can don’t have to deal with so much wear.

The initial blast hits the muzzle brake rather than the first baffle of the suppressor, significantly extending the life of the silencer, particularly with short-barreled rifles or intense shooting schedules.

I run flash hider plan B on my 9mm PCCs though but the pressure is way lower so I tell myself I’m smart lol

Just ordered one for my AR. Don't even have a suppressor yet but been wanting this mounting system and these were OOS everywhere. Now just an LPA or RPA (both keep in stock longer than the micro brake it seems, so less urgent)

CAT WB on DD MK18 upper with Comstock HUB and this MD. No complaints at all!!

For anyone else with that specific combo, you need the LPA and not the RPA. Double recessed won't clear the handguard

These and the 30 CAL Compact Muzzle Brakes have been OOS for awhile but are finally back with a bunch of other SKUs included in this restock :) We should have another restock of all popular SKUs of Comstock in the next few weeks!

We also just got in a hefty amount of Rearden Atlas GEN 2, Charlie XL Atlas in and the all new Rearden CATlas coming in tomorrow!
