Anyone who hasn’t visited, I recommend any aviation lover make time to visit their adjacent reserve hangar is one of the best hidden collections in Canada.

And then, if the time is right, you can go see the Musical Ride horses nearby. I need to make a point of visiting the hangar again, it’s been a while.

Good ole Ottawa.

Not a half bad museum. The one in Hamilton is also pretty cool.
Nothing beats seeing the Lancaster up and flying

Seeing 2!!

Fuck that’s incredible.
I love it in the summer when the one in Hamilton is constantly flying around. You can hear her before you ever see her. It makes 25yo me jump off the couch and go running into the street

2014 was a great airshow year for me. Saw so many things fly that you can't see anymore!
The Lancs were an emotional experience. You could hear it in the crowds. I saw them at the Dunsfold Wings and Wheels airshow (doesn't exist anymore) and you could actually hear people cry. I think I've only seen the Vulcan have the same effect. And the mass Dakota parachute drop at Sannerville in 2019.
Hopefully we can see 2 lancs in the future together again. With just Jane in the U.K. and I think there is also another project in Canada? For now, Europe will have to make do without a flying lanc in 2026 as the BBMF example is in maintenance!

That’s amazing honestly. I wish I could have seen that.
If I’m correct- I think there’s an ongoing project in the U.K. for the third lanc, and possibly also one in Canada that’s been ongoing for a number of years. I remember being told a few years ago that there was an ongoing project somewhere.
The lanc is truly a sight to see. Best part of my summer is watching tourists hit the deck when she comes flying over. She flew over Niagara Falls last summer and I watched a group of tourists jump for the ground thinking that we were under attack lol

Hahahaha I'd love a shot of the lanc over the Niagara falls! That same airshow we were surprised by the Vulcan.
Our camping spot was next to the airfield (friends live there) and she came from behind the trees at display height. I have a shot of her using the 28 mm minimum zoom. This is uncropped
