RingCentral vs Zoom/teams

Hey I just discovered RingCentral video meeting tbh It works okay, is anyone using or used before.
Can you tell me if it can replace zoom/teams for a small buisness? and how is it for your use case?

We have RC, its meh and expensive. I keep having to find alternate ways to do shit in the portal, reassigning stuff usually gets you a 'pay more' prompt, even when you've had the phone number for years.
Did a cost analysis though....moving everything to teams calling will save us 9k per year, and simplify our system, company already uses entra/m365

What problem does RC solve that Teams does not?

If I think out of my mind there's none, but one I can think of is RC video meeting is freely included in their phone plans we were thinking of getting their phone services

Video meetings are already free with any Teams plan (or even without plans)
I've compared Teams phone system pricing with RC a while ago, and there was just no financial benefit of RC.

Interesting — was the decision mainly cost-driven or did you also find Teams better in terms of reliability/features? I am in trial stage so I am open for any suggestions

We already used Teams heavily before moving out away from our old pbx.
Teams phone systems meant no new software to maintain, less friction for users, cheaper.

RingCentral Video works fine for small teams, but it won't fully replace Zoom or Teams unless phone + video is your main need. We use both. RC has solid call quality, easy screen sharing, up to 200 people, no time limits on paid plans. But Zoom's better for breakout rooms and big meetings, Teams wins if you're all-in on Microsoft 365 already (calendars/docs integrate perfect). For 5-20 people? RC handles daily standups and client calls no problem, just clunkier on mobile than Zoom

Super helpful, thanks! Any limitations or pain points you’ve noticed over time in video meetings in RingCentral?
AltoGreen@reddit
Mobile app lags, no breakout rooms (add-on needed), 100hr recording cap(I think). Fine for phone bundles, not pure meetings.

Oh I see I will keep these in mind, I am just at trial stage so i am open for any suggestions from your side...thanks

Used to use RC when it was just rebranded Zoom. Eventually we left it for Teams and Zoom. Never really worked right and always had quirky problems and was never on the cutting edge of video conferencing software.

Yeah same, I read they’re not using Zoom backend anymore. Just out of curiosity though what were the main problems you faced when you used it?
1nspectorMamba@reddit
lack or support, lack of feature parity with zoom, end user confusion, update issues.

RC is ideal as long as you don't need all MS365 package

Got it yeah I don't need all that MS things, can you tell me what makes RC ideal according to you ?
