Broken down for 5 days because my radiator blew out on Friday, Love's couldn't order it until Monday, didn't get in until late Tuesday, and couldn't install it until Wednesday
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
Did you make it to the loves shop or were stuck on side of road
Emergency-Shine7460@reddit
I was stuck on the highway for 7 hours waiting for a wrecker to haul me 7 miles to the Love's. Had to get a hotel

1.5 weeks for a differential in reno. Or maybe a little over a year after a wreck. Idk if the wreck counts though.
Whitehoneybun666@reddit
Spent 3 weeks broke down in Birmingham the owner couldn’t afford to fix the truck or pay me enough to leave
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
Damn man what did you do for all that time
Whitehoneybun666@reddit
Did some chilling sold parts off the truck ran a load for someone else made the money to get back home

2 weeks for a def sensor. Most of it was waiting for the part. All paid, of course not amazingly but something.
A starter is like a few hours max.

Ok thank you I havent never had this happen when I broke down at the last place I just a different truck but then again I was a hour away from the shop

82 hours in Phoenix while our company lead mechanic haggled with the shop over repairs and price. Probably made it longer that the office insisted I sleep in the truck every night since they didn't want to pay for a hotel. Truck came out of the shop after a $XXXX fix still broken. I took time off once I got back, thinking our shop would look into it once I got home, which they did not. Went out for another week, brought the truck back, wrote it up in-depth with the shop again, and took more PTO so they could actually fix it.
Day before I'm supposed to go out to NC from Chicago, tried calling to see if they fixed it, nobody could get back to me with a solid answer, lead mechanic never returned my messages I left for him specifically to call me. 100 miles into my trip, truck started acting up with the same issue. Woke my boss up at midnight on a Sunday to tell him, he tells me the lead mechanic gave it a green light even though they were waiting for parts...
Well I made it to NC, made the delivery. On the return trip, not only did it start acting up as it did before, I now got the red emergency shutdown light. Pulled over on a ramp to inform our lead mechanic that the issue had progressed. Drove 60 miles hitting the 'over-ride shutdown' button so I could get to a dealer and avoid a tow. Sat in the shop lounge all day and was informed mid-day that I'd need a hotel. Office initially fought me on it and I told them that in all of my experience I've never had a company fight me over needing a hotel. I'm now sitting in a hotel in WV on day 2. The saga continues..

Damn man I am 70 hours right now with no timeline for a repair

3 days. Bad engine harness. Stayed in a SHADY ass motel waiting. So shady only 1 local pizza place would deliver there and you had to go out to the car and get the pizza in the driveway. Middle of summer. The room had 1 tiny window air conditioner in the BATHROOM haha. Guy in the room next to me was super old and had a super old face tattoo. He got that shit back when people absolutely didn't do that
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
Damn i can't tell what's worst that motel or being stuck in a truck that don't turn on
trucksarekewl@reddit
Hope you're getting paid dude
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
Same here man
Charlie_Hustler@reddit
8 hours is my longest.
I blew a tire on my trailer and it took 3 hours for the repair guy to show up and then another 5 hours for the guy to fix the tire and mudlfaps. Shit sucked and I wasn't even compensated for the wait time sadly.
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
The compensation part is what's worring me I don't think they are gonna pay me all the down time
Charlie_Hustler@reddit
If it's some cheap company, then you will likely have to eat the loss tbh. This is one of the reasons I left my old company and now drive for a Mega that pays for my time and cares about me somewhat lol
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
I am at a mega and thats kinda whats keeping my hopes up but still feel iffy about getting everything paid

5 days is my longest and it got the mechanic at my home shop fired! I went into the main terminal for a PM that was due and it was the closest terminal.
Made myself comfortable in the driver's lounge and the mechanic came in a couple hours later and told me that I needed a lot of work doing. New engine mounts, rad hoses a sensor to the fan had gone, and a lot of other stuff that the last PM should have fixed.
I was there 5 days and the truck felt brand new when I drove away
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
I wish I was at my home terminal but no im 10 hours away

My International needed a battery switch but they bypassed it until the part could come. The whole electronic system has gone haywire. I tried to roll out on Monday and my dash kept going dark and going off and back on. I routed back to the terminal and they just got my truck in this morning. They said they'll do the battery switch but the other issues are unrelated to the switch and they'll have to investigate it. I'm at the point where I'd just like my company to just give me a new truck because this is like the 3rd time I've had to sit for 3 days because of some kind of electrical/electronic problem. This is the 3rd time in like 6 months. First time was an engine light, transmission light and a few others. Second time was the HVAC system stopped working and left me with no heat or fan adjustment. Now it's this. They're actually no longer buying Internationals because of the issues they're giving their drivers.
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
I wanna ask for a truck but I can almost hear what they are going to say" parts are ordered just wait"
ineedmoney775@reddit (OP)
Not once has the company offered a hotel or anything I've been sitting in my truck since Sunday and have no clue what to do. I keep getting the same response when I ask the lead mechanic well get to you when we have a chance now its kinda pissing me off and has me really considering quitting
homucifer666@reddit
Like a day and a half for a DPF replacement.
Wasabi-Kungpow@reddit
I was down for 3 weeks with a blown engine. It would have been longer but they got tired of paying me so they gave me a new truck.
RoadRatzzz@reddit
5 days.....waiting for parts to rebuild transmission.....Phoenix AZ.....company paid hotel
Silent-Room-4987@reddit
Lol, same. Only difference is mines a transmission issue.
