How do you deal with negative news overload lately?

Every day I wake up to all kinds of fucked up news, chaos everywhere. How do you guys manage to keep your sanity and move on with your lives and not be terrified for the future? And how these things will potentially affect you and your countries?

I dont have any social media and dont watch news. All news sites are blocked on any apps I use (YouTube, Google, etc)

How do I block them?

There are options on every video or post that say., dont recommend channel, I dont want to see this, or not interested. Just click that every time and algorithm eventually stops suggesting it.. also, dont subscribe to any news

Is there a way to shut off shorts? Those are so annoying -_-

The same way

I reinstalled Instagram and just watch cat videos consequently. My wife only sends me videos about Nature and nice Spots in Serbia, Bosnia and Turkey and also some cat videos.

Become negative

I've just become apathetic to everything. I've got too much shit going on in my own life to care about what's happening outside.

I never watch the news & don’t follow politics, so I’m totally off the grid.
I’ve unfollowed & unsubscribed from any page that writes about Trump, Israel, Orban, Russia, etc. I follow only travel & science profiles on Instagram so there’s zero chace I get anything about wars & politics in my explore feed.
Thankfully my circle of people dgaf about politics either so that makes makes it easier.

Every time i open youtube is literally iran trump asmongold, joe rogan, some chinese professor dude talking about collapse of western society and some true crime lmao i need a nee youtube account at this point

Simple: disconnect when you feel it gets to you (or when you have the sensation the world is turning batshit insane). It's not like you're forced to hear/see the news if you shut your phone/pc/tv off and just put some ambient music, open the windows to let fresh air get in, enjoy your morning tea in the sunshine and listen to the birds sing.
If, for the sake of example, the apocalypse starts in an hour, do you want your last hour spent in fear and paranoia, or do you want to actually enjoy your life and be with the people you love? Apply this mindset each day, reap the effects in about a month and keep reinforcing it.

I wanted to post something smilar couple of days ago but i am way too active in the sub didnt want to bother people lol.
Yeah so im from Türkiye everyday we have bad news, even worse news or awful news. This has been going on for around 2 decades not and it has gotten worse.
What i do to cope?
The day i found out about whole epstein thing i got off instagram. We had a baby. I dont need to know about things like that. I still have my social media accounts but i use the internet like its the early 2000's no social media usage on my phone, no shopping on my phone. I use my pc when i want to get things done.
I watch economy news only for obvious reasons but economies all around the world are all messed up. I am on youtube but i disabled shorts. Short form content causes brainrot and kills your dopamine. I am still struggling just like you are. I think i should start meditating and exercising more.

At this point in this day and age, it take fair amount of will power to cut yourself off of internets toxic grip

the tv has been closed ever since ever. the internet is horrendous, but my whole life has been bad news after bad news. Then again I'm still standing and a few bad things happened to me personally, the sun still shines and we're trying to do our best and go on with our lives. The situation will get worse. I've been through 3 economic recessions (the fourth one is coming right now), I've seen democracy collapsing, life standards falling, been through a pandemic, seen ww3 starting, palestine getting smashed, terrorism in Europe, Iraq-Afghanistan-Yugoslavia-Ukraine-Iran-Yemen etc etc war and I'm not even 30 lol

I'm a student. I have exams. A nuke could fall tomorrow and I would be none the wiser about it

What happened? What did I miss?

Because living in the Balkans sucks so much how can I even care what happenes somewhere else. Police stealing money with fake drug tests, politicians stealing money with lies and nationalism and people too brain dead by the rich and priests/hoxhas to see anything but petty nonsense.
TheScarletPhoenix_@reddit (OP)
Yeah well i just hope it wont start sucking ever more after all that its happening because small poor countries get directly affected frokmthe desision of bigger players
elixxirumoflife@reddit
I got used to it lol,I wouldn’t wonder if the apocalypse would come by tomorrow after all these months that felt like hell lmfao
TheScarletPhoenix_@reddit (OP)
Its just so depressing. Even listening to seemengly informative videos about geopolitics and whats to come it just becomes a burden and almoat every other day I hear news that makes me want to loose enthusiasm for everyday life or making any plans
LaVeriteEstDansLeVin@reddit
Close the tv, it's a propaganda machine.
TheScarletPhoenix_@reddit (OP)
I mostly watch youtube.. dont even have tv but yeah its getting really overwhelming

When i was little the news were worse. Iran and Ukraine sesm like sportsmanship compared to what happened in Arab spring. I don't understand how naive people have become with so many information, and everyone overlooks the prices and does not rise up.

I'm trying to stay offline as much as possible, though I've been overdoing it lately. Time to practice some social isolation.
