Serbia to make Hermes 900 drones

Its the biggest drone Israel is producing and will make Serbia the only of rare countries that can make it. Haaretz/BIRN sources say that it will be able to operate at altitute over 6000 m. Sole Israeli drone to do that is Hermes 900. The other drone in production will be some kind of multicopter

We are as capable in some areas. For example Azerbeijan bought Serbian Nora B52 SPGs not Israeli or Turkish ones. 48 pieces for 319 million euros. The first was was paraded in Baku last october

I have been at croatias biggest nazi death camp, out of curiosity, and the amount of croats i meet there making fun of the victims and literally celebrating nazi war crimes was horrific. For an outsider it was unbelivable. In Western Europe, that would be unthinkable and it changed my view on croatia. It does that to everyone learning and experiencing these guys. But yeah, balkan stays balkan. With the good and especially bad things. But Croatia and Serbia are definitly the black sheeps of the balkan penisula.

Most Croatians are aware that our ww2 period was extremely messed up and something to ashamed of, but a lot of people are ignorant sheep (as it could be seen on the concert).

Not only during WW2 but also it continued during yugoslavia when commies ran out of domestic "enemies" so they were executing Croat nationals in emigration. But thankfully that failed system and state collapsed in 1991. Never again!

The gas vans in Belgrade were German Saurer trucks brought in and operated by the German SS, not 'Serb engineering.' Meanwhile, the NDH didn't need the Gestapo to take Jews to Auschwitz because the Ustaše were too busy running Jasenovac and slaughtering them on their own soil. Read a history book ustaša troll.

At the moment Serbian government is not in a position to take a moral stance on such a lucrative deal. The west has forced them to be in a position where there is little room to pick and choose investments.

He denied all interference in the programme. The text clearly says: 51% will be owned by Elbit systems 49% by Jugoimport SDPR. He might sell them or rent them his facility because he is sole drone factory here but that doesnt mean he has any decisions in that. Just like you can rent buttum of your house to cevapmaker. You dont decide how much he will pay workers, what will he do with earned money etc etc

A country with a GDP less than 500-700 billion $ or a population less than 70 million may only be an important actor in some combined/integrated arms production industry, at best a rook, at worst a pawn. Zastava is ranked last in transparency rankings among European weapons manufacturers. A lot of weapons get sold under the table to organized crime. Not sure how this benefits anyone except the corrupt.

Israel is a MUST for our arms industry. Everyone can sell to ukraine but we cannot to full extent. Meaning other will modernize their plants while we wont. Countries that dont have any history of making artillery granades will surpass us eventually. While we have state owned production of propellants (milan blagojevic), explosives (prva iskra baric), rocket fuel (trayal/edepro), rocket motors (edepro), end assembly Sloboda and Krusik also metal parts of grenades at 14. Oktobar and Kovacki Centar Valjevo
