What’s low-effort habit that makes you feel way more put together than you actually are?

Spritzing a of perfume, I do it every single day without fail even if I’m not going anywhere, it makes me feel like I’m ready for the day even if I look like a state
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
Maybe not a habit per se but I have my eyebrows tattooed and apply lashes once a week that last to the following week. I almost never wear makeup and my face feels like I made an effort even when I just rolled out of bed
Neptunpluto@reddit
There are falsies that stick for a week?
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
It’s the Tatti Lashes ones - individual clusters :) they last me 7 days minimum
Neptunpluto@reddit
Wow! I thought they were meant to be removed. I just checked their website and sgain, I’m confused with so many different names of styles (under the individual clusters section). Are there a specific kind that stays? They stay even when you shower?
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
You need the invisilash type and the DIY kit and they’re reusable too so once you’ve done the week just clean them and reapply ☺️
Neptunpluto@reddit
You’re godsent! Made my day! I have been looking for something like this but eyelash lifts were expensive for my budget… TYSM!
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
Oh I’m so glad I could help! Honestly I swear by these things and once you get the hang of applying them you’ll be addicted 💖
Neptunpluto@reddit
You are allowed to apply mascara and remove it right? I double cleanse with oil & a cleanser. Would that make the glue weak or smthng?
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
I think they recommend no mascara as it might mess up the glue. But I’m sure you can use it on the bottom lashes
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
I applied these a week ago before I left for the west highland way - 39 miles, 8 hr + days of hiking in the rain and 2 nights of camping other and they’re still going strong!
Neptunpluto@reddit
You placed them really beautiful! I’ve been watching some videos since our discussion and your placement is the best I’ve seen

Jewellery (but not too much!)
IDKBear25@reddit
Real or counterfeit?
wanbeanial@reddit
By 'counterfeit' do you just mean 'cheap'?
IDKBear25@reddit
No I mean whether the precious metals are real (like real gold or real platinum) or lookalike jewellery.
No_Pea-1@reddit
When you buy jewellery, do you use real or counterfeit money?
IDKBear25@reddit
Holy smokes.
I mean is the fucking “gold” or “platinum” in the jewellery real or the stones because some people wear fake jewellery.
Miss_Nothing78@reddit
You mean costume jewellery pal
IDKBear25@reddit
Yes indeed pal.
wanbeanial@reddit
So, not 'counterfeit'
IDKBear25@reddit
It is cuz it’s imitating gold or diamond or platinum or whatever stone.
wanbeanial@reddit
Do you think everyone walking around wearing jewellery is either wearing precious stones and metals or pretending they are? Shiny things are just nice ✨️ bloody hell I wore a mood ring from Claire's yesterday. People are literally just having a bit of fun.
IDKBear25@reddit
Jewellery doesn’t interest me unless it is made of PM.
wanbeanial@reddit
'PM' lollllll I gathered. But assigning nefarious motives of deception on total strangers isn't really cool.
IDKBear25@reddit
I was just asking if they were costume jewellery or real metal jewellery that’s all.
wanbeanial@reddit
Yes I know, that's what we've been saying 😂 NOT 'counterfeit'
IDKBear25@reddit
Whatevs.
wanbeanial@reddit
😅
wanbeanial@reddit
Lookalike what though? It's still jewellery. Do you think everyone tries to emulate designer brands all the time or something?
IDKBear25@reddit
No but I mean some people choose to wear fake gold or fake platinum rather than real shit.
wanbeanial@reddit
That's not what counterfeit means
IDKBear25@reddit
Yes it does.
wanbeanial@reddit
No it doesn't, it's just wearing a cheaper metal
IDKBear25@reddit
But it’s not the actual metal that it looks like.
wanbeanial@reddit
It's just metal
No_Pea-1@reddit
Odd question
IDKBear25@reddit
No, I don’t think it is at all.
wanbeanial@reddit
Well no shit, you asked it
IDKBear25@reddit
It ain't an odd question bruh.
wanbeanial@reddit
Ok girliepop
IDKBear25@reddit
Slayyy.

Styling my clothes rather than just throwing them on. Rolling up sleeves, tucking bits in, buttoning/unbuttoning etc. I'm wearing the clothes rather than them wearing me!
tthuggst4rr@reddit
This!! Omg it can make the hugesttt difference to how you are perceived if your clearly making an effort to look more put together
prettypetitetoy@reddit
making my bed daily helps me
Polz34@reddit
I have temperamental hair and honestly I'd love to shave it but being a female it just wouldn't look right at all, so I go for short at the back longer at the front (kind of 'Karen-esk' I guess) - anyways I learnt that if I grab the two long bits )one at a time) twirl them and then just hairgrip back (takes all of 1 minute) I instantly look smart enough for outside/work - literally have them in right now
sockeyejo@reddit
I buzz cut mine when it becomes a bird's nest and the number of women who come up to me and say how much they envy me is extraordinary. I always tell them to just go for it. They obviously think it suits me, late 40s, frumpy, overweight, mud magnet, perimenopausal, but somehow think they'd look hideous. Never seen a woman with a buzz cut who didn't look awesome, especially if she's got significantly better style and posture than me 🤣
Polz34@reddit
Other than early 40's pretty sure you just described me?!? 😂
sockeyejo@reddit
👋
Redgrapefruitrage@reddit
I get my eyebrows waxed once every two months. It keeps them neat and I wake up feeling put together, even I don’t wear any make-up that day.
sockeyejo@reddit
When I've given myself a buzz cut instead of letting it become a bird's nest and don't have to deal with unruly curls and bed head.
Changing the under sheet on my bed as well as the sheet and duvet cover.
LauraPa1mer@reddit
Please don't wear perfume in public
eidolon_eidolon@reddit
What the hell?
theegrimrobe@reddit
if im leaving the house i get dressed properly - no stained sloppy tops or jogging bottoms - its jeans most of the year or shorts if its roasting then appropriate top layer(s) which are freshly washed if next to skin
people who go to the shops ect in pj's and slippers really gets my goat and fwiw i have clinical depression so its not like i have motivation every day
GrossFatSlob@reddit
Giving up booze.
destria@reddit
I don't know if this is considered very low effort but I get gel nails done once a month. They look great for nearly the whole month and I always get compliments. It takes about 1.5hrs and obviously no effort on my part, and I love chatting to my nail tech.
Deep_Banana_6521@reddit
I do the dishes after I cook and then clean the plates after I eat, then put them away. Coming in to the kitchen with zero dishes is a pleasure.
Nannyhirer@reddit
Red lipstick. If you find the right tone, a matte red transforms a completely nude face and somehow gives the impression you’ve dressed to impress.
DropDeadFredidit@reddit
When I was in my twenties I worked as a hairdressing assistant for a while. The manager wanted the women to be dressed up like it was a Saturday night everyday of the week and he would regularly pull me for not being dressed up enough. I worked out that I could where anything I wanted but just put red lipstick on and he wouldn’t say anything 😂
Nannyhirer@reddit
Yep. Once you’ve nailed it, you know.
Jasboh@reddit
Put the kettle on, tidy the kitchen. Any time I have spare time in there I make it neater, so nice to have it all tidy
kalendral_42@reddit
Brushing my hair & doing my rapunzel bun - looks very neat/complicated/etc but takes about 2m
SoggyWotsits@reddit
I do my hair and makeup every day, even if I’m just gardening and getting plastered in mud.
hunsnet457@reddit
My skincare. It’s probably multiple little habits at this point and it took my years to understand how it all works, but as far as i’m concerned I could be dead on a coroner’s table and I know that examiners recording is going to say “John Doe has excellent skin”
Aggravating_Water_39@reddit
Recently I reduced my work wardrobe and I have just a few pairs of smart trousers that don’t need ironing - it makes my day so much easier! I always look relatively smart with minimal effort and they are black so they match basically all my shirts and jumpers
Zaliciouz@reddit
Just shower, put on deodorant, perfume, mae your bed, clean clothes. I do it daily without fail even if I am depressed or unwell
StereotypicallBarbie@reddit
Doing my hair! Might be all day in no makeup.. in shorts and my sliders! But my hair will be done.
Busy_Plankton_3588@reddit
Having a shave
Aromatic_Tourist4676@reddit
I’m still trying to figure this out. More often I spend time telling myself just not to worry about it 🤣 I wear long lasting lipstick and the perfume spray does help other than that I struggle to squeeze in a run and a shower until the afternoon…
zamoflo@reddit
Started getting rid of clothes that take effort to put into outfits at the start of the year and slowly built a capsule wardrobe of better quality items that just go with anything! Makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier. And I also do the perfume thing - even if I’m just working from home or going out to walk the dog it makes me feel ready for the day

To be honest, this. I've never been one for crosswords or sudoku - before my first cup of tea, I like to write at least 2000 words in cogent sentences. It honest to god does not matter what about, it just exercises my head in such a way, that - for the rest of the day - I'm functional.
There's something about actually articulating thoughts or ideas in words, it forces you to use your brain in a way nothing else does.

Daily skin care and doing my eyebrows. I don't wear make up daily but it always makes me feel a little more put together
