ULPT: I caught Art Swiping...

So this is kinda a weird one... A few months back I bought a $100 one of a kind Marvel Sketch card cause I thought the art looked cool.
Recently I stumbled upon the same art piece essentially but bigger... Basically the artist who did the official card for marvel essentially traced the art, made it smaller, didn't credit the original artist anywhere... I found the original artist / upload and it's from 10 years earlier.
Now what should I do? If I expose the guy in the art community then my card becomes worthless. I do want to reach out to the original artist and tell him what happened (he could probably sue the guy / marvel idk). Think he'd give me a reward for my troubles? Idk.

Why are you asking us? Throw a piss disk at them
Creepy_old_man_in_IL@reddit
We throw fecal frisbees.
Lots_of_bricks@reddit
I think we place piss discs. While piss cubes and a slingshot sound pretty fun tho đ

the unethical thing to do is SELL IT before others find out.
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
Make sure to sell it to a known bad person.

Fantastic advice
Shell-Fire@reddit
Yep.
HitIerWasWrong@reddit
Why would it be worth less?
Look up CS:GO's M4 Howl skin. That was originally stolen art. Now it's worth thousands.
skate1243@reddit
Your card is worthless already lol

Why's it already worthless?
skate1243@reddit
Why would it gain value?
iamre2@reddit (OP)
I never said it would?... The previous owner bought it for $110, I bought it for $100, his cards regularly go for $100-200 on eBay. Please explain to me why my "card is worthless already" other than to try and be negative to someone online.
skate1243@reddit
It doesnât really matter what I think, but clearly it already lost âvalueâ when you bought it
iamre2@reddit (OP)
If it doesn't matter what you think why comment? Lmao
skate1243@reddit
Why post?
iamre2@reddit (OP)
?
Lol cause I was asking for genuine advice? Lol...
Why state stuff as facts with no evidence just to talk out of your ass? Like this has gotta be one of the biggest cases of the dunning kruger effect i've ever encountered lol.

Report to Disney and they will give you 6 months of Disney+
m4dm4cs@reddit
Just donât get hurt at their theme parks afterward.
NorahGretz@reddit
...because of the implications.
zomgitsduke@reddit
I would get my money back if I were you.
iamre2@reddit (OP)
How?
zomgitsduke@reddit
Contact who you bought it from - tell them you realized this wasn't authentic. If they refuse, suggest you'll get Disney involved and it'll be much worse of a nightmare than refunding you
iamre2@reddit (OP)
It was a random booth at comic con over a year ago, I don't have their contact. They themselves got it off eBay if I recall.
sharkbait-oo-haha@reddit
Your $100 piece of art is ALREADY worthless. If you like it great, display it. That's its value. But $100 art is not an investment. Especially if you bought it retail. So go ahead and blow up the market, you've already got nothing to lose.
JamieTheGinger@reddit
Fuck the marvel character's dad.
NombreCurioso1337@reddit
It's not illegal to redraw art. It might be illegal to reproduce art or claim it is original, but if you bought an original art piece (ink, pencil, etc, not printed) then there is no problem here.
Obvious_Troll_Me@reddit
It's an original copy!Â
Linuxmartin@reddit
Sell the card, maximizing profit (or minimizing losses) and then notify the original artist. Worst case they sold the (rights to) that work
