So basically in my country the x3d cpus are either INSANELY expensive or just not available at all, the only one thats available right now is the 7600x3d and it goes for around the equivalant of 650$ so i was wondering are either the 7600x or 9600x fine for gaming? im currently running a 9070 gpu that i got gifted but my 3600 is struggling to keep up with it

gang a 5800x would do just fine for a 9070, you don't needa spend that much for an upgrade (new mobo, new ram)

What resolution are you using?

You need new ram (ddr5) for either of them so it's a pricey platform upgrade that will likely eclipse the cost of the X3D chip. You should be looking at 5700X/5800X (or XT) as an intermediate upgrade path.

yeah that makes sense, sorry for the silly question. the 5800x actually retails for a very reasonable price in my country, at around 165$ so i think i will be looking at it thank you so much for the help.

I would also agree to this OP, no need to go AM5 if you are using 9070XT. The 5600X or 5700X will do absolutely fine, heck the 5800X would be the best choice for you.

Before you put the new CPU remember to update your BIOS, otherwise, the MOBO won't recognize it.

You'd also need new RAM and a new Mainboard if you are upgrading from your current setup. You got AM4 and the VPUs you mention would only fit on AM5.
If you wanna safe money. Look for a 5600x / 5700x / 5800x / 5800xt

3600 struggling? Why do u feel so ? What rez are u running

Bruh in my country 5700x3d and 7600x3d cost the same as 7800x3d so I bought the 7800x3d for like 250 dollars

7600x and 9600x has similar performance in gaming
The difference is that 7600x has a TDP of 105w while 9600x consumes 65w
So technically the 9600x is easier to coolÂ
Whichever is cheaper is good though

They perform almost the same. The 9600X is more power efficient. Get the 9600X if they're similar prices. Otherwise, get the cheaper option n
