Dear Truck Drivers,

It gives me such a fabulous jolly when you blink your lights at me after I do the headlight thing so you can safely move into my lane.
You people with the fancy truck lights send me into a happy, jaunty tizz.
Conversely, when you don't do the blinkie thing, I feel sad and it takes a few diversions to shake it off.
Just thought you might like to know.

Dear OP,
It makes me so happy when drivers like yourself indicate. And I feel that, to give joy and thanks in return for permission is right and appropriate.

as a driver, I'm also enjoy when I get the blinky lights as well as giving them to others, but if your high beams harness the power of 30 suns and it's after sunset, please just turn your headlights off and on if you're able.. I always appreciate the courtesy, but I appreciate not being flashbanged way more 🙂↕️

I have backwards facing led loghts for this reason lol. If they don't get the hint I slow down and hit the high beams on them

This tho.. and if I don't come over immediately don't keep banging me I'm probably trying to get my eyes to reset from looking in my mirror the exact second you flashed the first time

We have a special button/switch specifically to blink the running lights

Just so you know, when you do that you then become ours to protect. Your gesture means now we look out for you and do what we can to keep you safe. And thank you

I have actually noticed that and wondered if I was imagining it. Good to know!

You have no idea how big of a help it is - as long as you aren't using your high beams at night that is. Especially if it's raining, even a little, it can be really difficult to tell exactly where your car is in relation to my truck.
For an idea of what it's like, you can measure 65 feet from your mirror, and that is about the end of our trailer.

I avoid driving at night because of the brain searing headlights. So I'm strictly a day-time headlight flasher.

If you'd like to blink back, hit the button for your hazards, blink twice then quit. I, as a driver, get quite the kick out of a four wheeler giving blinks back. I smile, point, look! That one was raised right!

I think it is the most awesome way to show appreciation to the drivers out there when at night...cycle the light switch from on to parking and back to on. Daytime bump the high beams a couple of times. Every old school taught driver out there appreciates it very much to know they are clear and safe to return to the right lane or when it is clear to merge onto the highway in heavy traffic and you are letting them in. It does make me sad when I don't get the courtesy blinky lights back. But then I think it might be a driver who was never taught what it means or why it is done. Probably the same folks leaving their poop bags everywhere. JMHO -Jeremy

your welcome, thanks for letting us in

I love getting the blinkies! I always give them out as good manners cost nothing.
I appreciate four wheelers that know how to communicate with me when we're on the highway. Lane changes are some of the most dangerous maneuvers we have to do.

Thank you for helping us out. It’s always nice at night if you’re able to turn the headlights off and back on to keep us not blind. During the day feel free to high beam the fuck out of us. But thank you either way, it’s nice when 4 wheelers assist us. Usually we’re viewed as the enemy. I’ll always use my interrupter or flash my 4-ways to show thanks.
