Fellow owner operators and drivers, I need y’all’s advice…

I picked a short haul, local load today by Navajo with a straight through delivery. Pickup was 9am and delivery schedule at 12pm. I picked it up on time and when I got to the receiver around 11:15am, they told me I didn’t have an appt.
I called Navajo right away and told them what was going on and called them several times since then and they’ve been giving me the run around since 11:15am - it’s 5pm now. I still don’t have an appt. I have family matters to attend to and a dedicated load tomorrow that I can’t miss, or even be late for.
I’m pretty sure Navajo isn’t going to call me back and give me an update, at least not today. I need to deliver at receiver or unload at shipper today or I’m screwed big time.
So my question is: how do I handle this situation? Can I bring the load back to the shipper? They sealed it and the seal is still intact. If I bring it back, what should I say? Can they even take it back? Or should I just keep asking the receiver and maybe someone will understand my situation and fit me in.
Thank y’all in advance.

Any luck?

Assuming it’s loaded in your trailer and not theirs, I think this becomes a question of how much money do you want to spend to deal with it. You could try to take it back to the shipper, cross dock it, or leave it for now and rént a trailer for tomorrow.

It’s my trailer. I’m going to try my luck in a couple hours when it slows down for them a little, hopefully I’ll get lucky.

I'm kind of surprised that you didn't have a confirmed appointment before you left.

I should have, but I got comfortable since I pick and delivery from these places at least 2-3 times a week and have never had an issue until today.

I'd check all the freight terms you. signed, you might be boned and being used as mobile storage for them lol
