Is there a brand new vehicle less expensive than the Nissan Versa?

I see Mitsubishi Mirages for under $14,000 on car Gurus

Can’t find a brand new one
Equana@reddit
He posted "brand new vehicle". The Mirage was cancelled after 2024... Any "new" ones left are 2 years old

Yeah idc if it's new old stock like a 2023 even would be fine as long as it isn't preowned

I mean, it depends on the way you look at it. I’d assume a decent bit haven’t been sold to their first owner yet. So by that logic, you’re buying a new car.

Which market? In China there are so many good car options that’s cheaper than a Nissan

USA, specifically New Jersey

Cheapest new car in the US is the Hyundai Venue at around $20500, then Kia k4 and Nissan Sentra both around $23,500. The only way to get anything cheaper is to find dealer’s discounting heavily to move stagnant inventory. Nissan is known for doing that so try to look for 2025 inventory like a 2025 versa on clearance.
Here is a 2025 versa for under 18k: https://www.cars.com/vehicle/3584c3bc-9c02-472c-995c-1f029674490e/
You might be able to negotiate it down some more as these things don’t sell well.

The Mitsubishi Mirage, in theory. I say that because you'd be surprised how difficult it is to get a dealership to actually get you a base spec car. They always try to sell you what they have, and few dealers stock complete poverty spec cars. You also can't predict how many dealer charges they'll tack on.
Also it's not really a great car for the US because it's not great on highways but it can do it. You'll have to get the 5 speed manual for the cheapest price possible. Coupled with the engine's 78 ponies, this translates to the car equivalent of a scooter.

I have a preference for 3 pedals vehicles

I need to make a correction. While on some websites they seemingly offer this car, it's leftover stock from 2024. No 2025 or 26 models on offer.
Equana@reddit
The Mirage was killed in 2024 so there no new Mirage.
SkiyeBlueFox@reddit
Shame. It was pretty much the only new spark-type car. Ended up going w a used spark over a mirage bc they weren't available and the i4 sketches me out less than the i3
PckMan@reddit
Huh, didn't know that. Guess what I was seeing was leftover stock.

The Versa is already junk. If i had to buy something cheaper than a versa I'd honestly just take the bus or buy an ebike. I wouldn't want the headache of ownership
ExcellentMaize4141@reddit
I’d say the final Gen Versa is actually a pretty solid vehicle for its price.
The Mirage however is a much different story.

US? Brand new as in unsold yes. There's no such thing as a 2026 Versa in the US so you can't really compare it to other 26 models.
