Can I claim personal Shell Go+ points when filling up stock or company cars?

Hi everyone,
I work at a dealership here in England (Skoda, if it matters) and part of my job involves taking forecourt stock, demo cars, and occasionally customer vehicles to the local Shell garage to fuel them up.
We use an official company fleet card to pay for the fuel at the till. I am wondering if anyone else in the motor trade scans their personal Shell Go+ app to collect the points before paying with the company card?
I have not done it yet because I am worried about the HR side of things. Does your dealership treat this as a harmless perk for the person doing the fuel run, or is it strictly considered gross misconduct and a conflict of interest? I cannot find a clear policy in our handbook.
Any advice from people working in the trade would be massively appreciated!

Abusing expenses is a good way to get fired, for that in itself, or as an easier way for something else. This feels a bit different to explicitly allowed airline/hotel points or the odd coffee-card stamp for meal expenses.
I'd consider asking the question and documenting it. I doubt anyone will really care but a lot of people have got themselves fired for insignificant financial gain.

Don’t work for a car dealership but regularly do this with nectar points when filling up the company pool cars and it’s never been an issue and finance have always approved the receipts. Can’t see it being an issue unless HMRC want to classify a few quid on nectar points each year as a benefit in kind!

Depends on the level of card, some wont let you collect points others will, it generally wont come up on the fuel report that points were collected
However it may be worth checking with your line manager or check the company handbook in relation to fuel if it doesn't mention it then happy days.

We can’t tell you that, check your hr guidance

This is entirely at the company discretion.
Ordinarily there wouldn't be a problem if the company card only gets the fuel as and when, there are instances that im aware of where the company bulk bought fuel from a supplier and was charged from the fuel already purchased, not accounting for the points. The pay discrepancy would make it an issue.
Better to just ask hr and the reason why

This is a "check with your employer" thing.
Most employers generally wouldn't care about you collecting Nectar points or fuel points on purchases, as it's a negligible thing for them to care about. A lot of corporate travel booking platforms even ask you to enter any frequent flyer / hotel loyalty scheme numbers so that you can claim the benefit.

I used to work for an emergency service, we made a fortune from nectar points. We had TVs gym equipment, not sure if it's still allowed.

Unless shell don’t allow it to be scanned alongside the fuel card, I don’t see why not. HMRC even published guidance on this
Some companies don’t allow loyalty to be collected in certain circumstances.

How would they track it?

What are you not asking your employer instead of asking here?
