Am I remembering wrong or could you bet on the stock market on regular bookies sites like paddy power. I know legislation has changed but I vividly remember this. Sorry if this is the wrong place and delete accordingly

They did but stopped a while ago due to licencing. It was basically spread betting which as a leveraged financial product is regulated by the FCA and not the gambling commission.

Ah that makes sense. So the cfd people now deal with the spread betting?
