Currently running a ryzen 5 3600 with a 2070 SUPER to power my 57 inch Samsung at full 7kx2k resolution.

I'm getting 120hz now.

As you can imagine this is quite okish for office work (finance: excel, power bi etc). No need for heavy AI models.

But it's time for an upgrade as I notice some hickups when doing a lot of multitasking.

So basically I use my desktop for productivity, but from time to time I also want to be able to do some gaming.

Currently I just use windowed mode and play on a smaller resolution with some browsing or YouTube on the sides.

Games like Runescape (don't judge, perfect while working and during boring meetings) work well like that. Not max settings but still high details.

Also battlefield 6 worked quite OK.

It's nowhere near to be released on PC, but futureproofing for GTA6 would be great.

So my question is: what is like the minimum required cpu - gpu combination for my use case?

Money isn't really the issue, but I also don't want to spend 5k or more on a 5090 and series 9 AMD CPU when 2k would also be sufficient.

I guess investing now in a solid top tier cpu with a less high end GPU would make sense? Then in 2 or 3 years I could just upgrade the GPU when needed for full screen maxed out GTA 6 at 240hz?

I don't need advice for a full build, just some directions on the cpu gpu combo. The rest I'll be able to manage with some searching in this sub.
