SN850 with B650-E?

Potentially a stupid question, but I’ve just built a new PC using the ASUS TUF GAMING B650E-E motherboard and I had considered reusing my WD Black SN850 from my PS5 as my primary drive for windows (have a second SSD arriving tomorrow). However, the SN850 has a built in heat sink which makes it a little too raised to use the heat sink cover on the mobo.
Are there any obvious issues or concerns with using this without the built in cover, or should I avoid it and pick up a non-built in heatsink drive?

If you want to reuse the SN850, it's perfectly fine to not use the heat sink the motherboard has. Some motherboards that include a heatsink cover, that cover is all that holds the M.2 drive in place, so you have to use it, but that's not common, and certainly not the case for the primary drive on that Asus motherboard. So just install it and then keep that cover in the motherboard box with the CPU cover and other accessories that you should keep but aren't using.

Toss out the mobo cover

You can use either the mobo or the built in heatsink, it doesn't matter. For gaming, you'd probably even be fine without any heatsink at all.
