Motorsport style gear indicator?

Howdy folks! This is for the custom rig builders out there. I’m not even 100% sure this is even possible wiring-wise but does anyone know of a gear indicator/position display for 10/13 Eaton transmissions? Going for something motorsport inspired and was curious if a display (like the one pictured) that shows your current gear is possible on something like an older 379. I’m a super layman when it comes to rigs, seen this done on loads of cars though.

I don't think the older trucks even know what gear they are in. So you cannot get that info to the display. They are really made for car sequentials, you might be able to make one for a manual car using sensors for each position but then that's doubly hard for a truck with range/splitters.
You would need a lot of knowledge with sensors and programming to do it. Good luck.

Manuals don't have them stock, but plenty of auto transmissions have numbers in the instrument cluster. I've seen them in Kenworth with Eaton Auto.

The KWs/Petes with the digital dash will show the gear you’re in at the same place the autos do, although it’s extremely lacking with accuracy/speed. It’s hilarious to throw it around and watch it freak the fuck out.

I guess the big question is would it be possible to make that work with a manual. I can’t really build a modern auto truck because I can’t really build the engine without removing the def.
