I snagged a used compact vp9 for a steal years ago, and just recently realized how good it is.
Haven't tried anything else because... cost. Curious how you came to dislike the hammer fired options?

To be completely upfront, I tried the hammer fired options from CZ and Beretta and found them just better. The trigger was better and the ergos were better. It fit my hand better than the HKs.
I wanted to like the HKs, because of the legendary reliability (especially the USP). But after trying it out at the range and comparing it to other competitors it just fell short.

Hks specifically usp's arent made to be the most fun range gun. Theyre made to be virtually indestructable and last longer than youre grand childeren

That’s pretty close to the going rate. I took my concealed carry test in 2011 with usp 9mm compact that I paid $600 for used back then. I’ve actually been looking at getting another one since my license is up for renewal and it requires another shooting test. Thought it would be cool to do it again with another one haha.
