I'm pretty sure ebikes is the best thing technology has come up with.

this is great. ebiking is the best thing ever. my first bike was a foldable 250w 16" vilano quark. I took it everywhere and put serious miles on it. I sold it off after 6 years of using and bought a new 750w ebike. The progress in 6 years is incredible. I have a built in speedometer, and odometer, power assist options. the range is ridiculous. I can go 50-60 miles on all pedal assist level 1.

Those integrated cockpits are hilariously impractical and companies should feel bad for selling them
SwiftUnban@reddit
It’s cleaner, but it just makes it that much harder to replace it if it breaks.
On a normal bike you just unscrew it, unplug and replace which takes less than 5m. This on the other hand seems like you’re gonna be in the garage for quite some time.
thunderflies@reddit
Are people breaking their cockpit screens all the time anyways? I’ve never broken one
Laserdollarz@reddit
I broke a set of handlebars once.
What's the better move?
$40 replacement the next day with a hex wrench? Or $250 proprietary integrated bar/stem/display maybe delivered in 2-3 weeks?
thunderflies@reddit
If I liked the integrated display more then I’d say it’s worth it for the $250 bars/display in the very unlikely event that I broke it. My bikes don’t have integrated displays, but I think you’re just making a bigger deal out of it than is warranted.
SwiftUnban@reddit
I haven’t broken one either and they don’t really fail often, but it’s still a point of failure that’s a lot more difficult to replace if it does.
And more than likely proprietary, so probably more expensive too.
thunderflies@reddit
I guess, personally I wouldn’t consider that a big issue. On two otherwise identical bikes I think k I’d pick one with an integrated display just because it looks better.
None of my e-bikes have integrated displays though, and all of the integrated displays I’ve seen are a little too simplistic for my taste anyways. I like the integrated display in the new Also bike that’s coming out soon.

I'm sure it works fine for people who think that bikes are supposed to be uncomfortable. The only adjustable thing on those bars is the mirror (which looks absolutely hilarious next to the integrated bar/stem/display).
Worried_Document8668@reddit
but those -25° XC worldcup ones from Scott look so nice. i minda want one even with all the impracticality

The bicycle, still to this very day, is the most energy-efficient method of human-powered transportation ever devised by mankind.
Adding electric assistance to an already energy-efficient mechanical system like that increases capability, which is really what is needed for most people to feel comfortable giving up a car.
redditorialy_retard@reddit
no, even better.
a human on a bicycle is the most efficient animal in the entire kingdom

Computers are a bicycle for the mind

You do aware we are currently flying around the moon?
redditorialy_retard@reddit
with a broken toilet
Weird-University1361@reddit
Your ebike doesn't even have a toilet 😂
redditorialy_retard@reddit
it has an ass massager, even better
Weird-University1361@reddit
That's one way to explain crappy roads.
RoundSyrup4424@reddit
Definitely one of the best technologies ever.
Imagine how much healthier we'd be as a society if most people e-biked?
Peridot81@reddit
Or just used a regular bike.
RoundSyrup4424@reddit
Good point!
redditorialy_retard@reddit
ebikes are imo better as I can more easily go hard due to the assurance of the motor letting me rest when I'm tired
andttthhheeennn@reddit
Significantly. It’s good exercise, basically zero emissions, and would reduce traffic considerably.
cdc12ss35@reddit (OP)
Well gps is probably #1. I'm from lakes 90s when driving was with a map and printed out map quest directions. But ebikes is #2 best thing technology has done.
redditorialy_retard@reddit
oh the days of asking people questions (not 90s but GPS sucked ass back then) and Waze cop snitching

I just got a ride1up roadster. I love it. I live in a hilly area so I wasn’t biking too much. This thing makes me want to get up and go.
Nebulon-B_FrigateFTW@reddit
Recumbent tadpole etrikes with aero enclosures are generally better, they're just not mass-market.
Posture_Chk@reddit
I love my used rad power and ive only had it for a week! Will eventually get a brand new ebike one day with more tech/features
No-Advantage-1553@reddit
It seems that you have a BirdBike and I’m looking to buy the same. Any suggestions?

I like the v frame better than the a frame. Not sure if your in MA, NH, RI or ME but I got mine at ocean state job lot. I paid $800 and got a $400 gift card for the store. So in a sence I paid $400 for it. My Odometer is at 36 miles already and I love it.
