I can’t help but see a Dachshund running in the wind.
Sacto1654@reddit
When I first saw the livery on the 787-9 I thought I kind of reminded me of this: 😏
glucoseboy@reddit
love the livery, freaking brilliant
LeatherFruitPF@reddit
How did I never notice that the plane's wings serve as the crane's wings in this livery?
Revolutionary-Toe955@reddit
That is the point of this design
TheManWithTheEsky@reddit
Yes! brilliant livery… Happy birthday, Lufthansa, one hundred years in flight, A century stitched in contrails, silver wings in morning light. From fragile frames of canvas dreams to jets that kiss the sky, You taught the world that distance bends when courage learns to fly.
Through storms and shifting histories, through silence and through song, You carried lives and stories that have travelled far and long. A million quiet reunions, a billion hopeful starts, A bridge of steel and skyways built between the human hearts.
The crane still glides unbroken, a symbol clean and true, Of precision, pride, and patience in every shade of blue. From Berlin’s early whispers to a global, vibrant span, You mapped the pulse of continents and brought them hand in hand.
So here’s to every takeoff and every safe return, To lessons learned in turbulence and wisdom still to learn. A hundred years behind you, the horizon still your art, Fly on, dear Lufthansa, with the whole wide world at heart.❤️
maxseale11@reddit
That white rectangular part of it at the front throws it off
Everything else is curved and flows nicely but that part
ANITIX87@reddit
So...the logo itself throws off...the logo? The 'feathers' in the logo are also squared off, so it all works together when you see the whole thing. I like that they didn't modify the logo at all.
maxseale11@reddit
Didn't know that was their logo, makes sense now
ANITIX87@reddit
It's the crane that's in the circle on the tail.
pixelated_prose@reddit
Right? It makes the standard "all-white" fleet look so boring by comparison
Bottasche@reddit
I mean it is Lufthansa Group. All of their airlines are generally boring (could also argue most are)
Complete_Physics_947@reddit
Ita is cool
Gluecksritter90@reddit
Because they got their livery because Spohr could veto it.
caverunner17@reddit
Why can't this be their "new" one as default?
xxxxxxxsandos@reddit
I imagine it’s more expensive to maintain.
Ficsit-Incorporated@reddit
Boo this man! Boooooo!!!
I know you’re right but you can’t make me happy about it. I’m hoping they keep a version of this livery on one or a handful of planes in the long term as a special/heritage livery given just how overwhelming the praise for it has been.
PerfectPercentage69@reddit
Burns: Smithers, are they boo-ing me?
Smithers: No, sir. They're saying boo-urns! Boo-urns!
penelopiecruise@reddit
I bet they are discussing this right now....
Twitter_2006@reddit (OP)
Yeah.The livery is awesome.
Classic-Antelope8932@reddit
I need this for my pc wallpaper. Mind dm’ing it?
E70_X5M@reddit
Very cool. I like it the more I see it.
sonnyempireant@reddit
Love the anniversary livery. Is this an optical effect or is the A350 that much bigger than the 787?
Twitter_2006@reddit (OP)
Its bigger and offers more seating capacity too.
MetroBR@reddit
since when does LATAM have a350s
ObserverAtLarge@reddit
They got rid of them during the pandemic. They were sent to other airlines.
entirelyinevitable51@reddit
LATAM def had a350s at one point (unsure if they still do) because Delta bought a bunch of them from LATAM
boost_deuce@reddit
A359 is 13 feet longer than the 787-9. This picture does really make it look a lot bigger though
entirelyinevitable51@reddit
i’ve worked with both. airbus sits wayyy higher than the boeing, so with it being an aerial shot (and the airbus is closer) that’s probably why it looks so much bigger.
Basic_Chemistry9499@reddit
It also depends which variant of the respective aircraft types these two are. -8, -9 for the 787 or -800, -900 for the A350.
Boeing757op@reddit
You mean -900 and -1000 for the a350 right?
Basic_Chemistry9499@reddit
I was providing similar variant examples for the two aircraft.
Coupleexplorer08@reddit
An A350-800 has never been built
MetroBR@reddit
it is, the 787s airbus equivalent is the a330
Youwin737@reddit
The q350 is bigger. For Boeing the 777 is the competitor to the a350.
Medical_Ad_573@reddit
Ive always admired the Luftwaffe
GeraintLlanfrechfa@reddit
Very nice livery indeed.
Flew on that a350 lately, shame that they actually don’t have their new business class cabin on it.
satellite779@reddit
The new business class with 6 different seats that you have to pay up to 600eur to select a seat?
der_rod@reddit
It's stupid but let's be honest any seat in that is still better than the old 2-2-2 config...
(Personally I refused to pay to get a seat and got the expensive "suite" seats every time because they were the only ones that were still available at check-in lol)
Schmittiboo@reddit
Same, had a business class flight from INC to FRA and the business class (on another A350 )was outright terrible. Everything worn out, many functions not working, ancient entertainment system
jonpacker@reddit
That's pretty impressive given how relatively new the A350 is. On brand for Lufthansa though.
Radiant_Solution9875@reddit
I love the frilly engine cowling and pointy nose of the 787 but those a350 wings, just gorgeous.
ansanttos@reddit
Was this yesterday? I say these beauties at Munich airport
swemeatballs78@reddit
One of the best retro livery ❤️
dvd_00@reddit
not retro. This is the special one.
Dogeater46290@reddit
the A320 was also there
NoTap8889@reddit
Cannot believe they've been operating the A350 and 777 for 100 years
Rook8811@reddit
Wonder what it would’ve looked like on an A340
isaacMeowton@reddit
This must be the A350k, or maybe its the photo angle - coz the A350 looks much bigger lol
Mauzersmash0815@reddit
Nah its a -900. Lufthansa doesn't have the -1000 yet
Wonderful_Milk1176@reddit
Distance and perception are doing the heavy lifting here
isaacMeowton@reddit
Yeah, even then, the A359 is almost 11 metres longer.
Its a big boi for sure
boeing568@reddit
359 is only about 4m longer than the 789. The 35k is 11m longer.
isaacMeowton@reddit
Lol my bad again, I shouldn't rely on the AI results in google search🤡
eladpress@reddit
Lufthansa don’t have A35Ks yet iirc
isaacMeowton@reddit
Yeah you're right my bad, I just ran the Reg. Number - D-AIXL is an A359
MarcoQuarko@reddit
The anniversary A320 neo joined them later
Mauzersmash0815@reddit
The heritage livery was in Berlin too that day but it missed the photoshoot
hot_messxoxo@reddit
this kinda made me smile in a weird way… i used to be terrified of flying and i remember my ex convincing me to take my first flight with him, i was literally gripping his arm the whole time during takeoff. but once we were up in the air and everything felt calm, i had this moment where i looked out the window and it felt unreal, like i was seeing everything differently for the first time. we didn’t last but that feeling stuck with me, like sometimes the things that scare you the most end up being the ones that change how you see everything a little
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Both are equally beautiful aircraft
No_Release_1705@reddit
I love the different takes on wingtip design between the two
CyberSoldat21@reddit
They have good lines to them
Twitter_2006@reddit (OP)
Yes, love both of them.
YourFavouritePoptart@reddit
I wish fun liveries were more common, these are absolutely gorgeous
LeatherFruitPF@reddit
I just noticed that A350 is "Rostock", which I got to fly in to Dulles Int'l from Munich in 2022. I should've waited 4 years.
polar775@reddit
Im passing thru FRA in a few days and really hope i get to see one!
Basic_Chemistry9499@reddit
Ah, "Loof-thahn-sah." 😉
Particular-Can1298@reddit
This livery… such a contrast to the eurowhite that’s the rave these days. Absolutely beautiful
GlynnisRose@reddit
Thanks for sharing these beauties!
Twitter_2006@reddit (OP)
Welcome.
SkinEmbarrassed7129@reddit
I think this livery would look way better without the oversized bird on the side.
Hyperspace-Hole@reddit
It’s the bird that makes it iconic. It looks like the plane wings are the bird’s wings. Without the bird it’s just a blue paint
meh_whatev@reddit
Nah it uses the plane’s wings as its own, it’s brilliant
DadJustTrying@reddit
Incredible machines with a beautiful livery!
