Your ninja stars versus Krull

I'll never be nearlyas dashing, and definitely I am too clumsy, much less far too petty to magnanimously handle such a fine five bladed weapon -- but I'd still kick it with a cyclops. Also you can stream it for free, if you want to possibly ruin your childhood memories of it.
TonyNoPants@reddit
Check this out. I 3d printed it and painted it.
psionfyre@reddit
The Glaive! Noice!
adolfojp@reddit
How do we know that this isn't the real one and that you're hiding it in plain sight.
TonyNoPants@reddit
It is said to be the weapon of kings.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
Can you show us throwing a not neat as fuck painted facsimile? Y'know because...
Sad_Firefighter_8407@reddit
I remember it being a wild goose chase one after the other.
I didn’t remember it as being the first film I saw with Liam Neeson in it but, having seen the cast list later on, it definitely was.
Much-Log3357@reddit
Bernard Breslaw too!
Sad_Firefighter_8407@reddit
Yes but I am pretty sure I saw other things with him in before this :)
Much-Log3357@reddit
He was in the carry on films. Unless I'm mistaken he was the cyclops.
Worth_Specific3764@reddit
still one of my favorite movies
deephurting66@reddit
Great cult movie, Tim Curry stole the entire show!
Azureknight205@reddit
I think you're thinking of Ridley Scott's Legend
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
I just thought I had a senior moment there for a second... Like was Tim Curry in Krull? Fuck I don't remember Tim Curry being in that movie...
deephurting66@reddit
Yep my bad, I remember now
Azureknight205@reddit
He would've been great as The Beast though, no doubt! Wishful thinking on the part of u/deephurting66.
TheRealJefe@reddit
The D&D setting that never was.
Mr402TheSouthSioux@reddit
I see your Glaive and raise you the Trisword from Sword and the Sorcerer.
Dannyhighfives@reddit
Krull feels like an alternate universe’s Star Wars that hasn’t been diluted with sequels/prequels/tv series. I love Krull.
TonyNoPants@reddit
Firemares can travel a thousand leagues in a day!
Colonel_Green@reddit
Colwyn actually joined Starfleet, then defected to the Maquis. Quite a life!
graveybrains@reddit
I never would have recognized him
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
Krull is like if Luke was gonna bang the fuck outta his sister right off the bat, but he had other shit to do first... Kolwyn rolls up in that castle, and in grand Reddit fashion, had to tip his lack of a fedora before he runs away to quest.. Haven't seen a lack of smoldering tension since
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
Just watched it with my partner this weekend, she'd never seen it. I had ups and downs, loved it in the 80s, when I revisited it in the 2000s I was let down because it was not what I remembered. But revisiting it now and with the right mindset, I did enjoy it again. I described it to some people recently as "what if Star Wars, but semi-medieval?".
Necessary-Duty-7952@reddit
With a young Liam Neeson!

Hiding in the back of the last picture

And Hagrid!

And Mr. Turkentine

MlsterFlster@reddit
Krull still fucking rules. I just watched it a couple months ago. No notes.
kid_entropy@reddit
Considering how often it's brought up by fans and what a pain in the ass it was for the characters in the story to get, the glave doesn't get that much actual use in the film.
Right_Hour@reddit
That’s how some kids became cyclopses - it was by practicing their krill throws, LOL.
graveybrains@reddit
For this particular bit of make believe it really was Nerf or nothing
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
It's on the roof of the school, and no one's parent, much less anyone else working there is helping in this situation. Wait do they still make those 80 trirangs? I might have a purpose in life if they do -- terrorizing the family, the dog, and any neighbors that get my path of destruction.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
ties a t shirt around my head, like back in the day you can catch this right?
Level_Improvement532@reddit
The scream noise the nameless henchmen made when killed was always over the top to me. But then again, the entire movie is over the top
TrustInRoy@reddit
The Slayers
knowone1313@reddit
I recently remembered this movie and watched it for the first time in like 25 years. It wasn't as good as I remembered but it wasn't as bad as the wrap that it has had.
ELUSIVE_GODS@reddit
Funny story in 1st grade a drew a glave around the border of my work paper...long story short the teacher thought I was drawing swastikas
stryst@reddit
Wait... is that a young Lt. Commander Michal Eddington I see all pre-treason?
eggs_erroneous@reddit
yessir. And he's wearing terrible striped spandex pants and rocking a Kenny Loggins haircut/beard combo.
eggs_erroneous@reddit
In the end, the Glaive was bullshit. It wasn't even the thing that defeated The Beast. It was, like, the powers of their love manifested as that matrimonial flame shit. Even as a kid, I remember rolling my eyes so hard.
Original_Scholar_272@reddit
I’ll take “Weapons you can’t use without hurting yourself” for $100, Alex.

That's alright the king can shoot fire from his hands now.
Original_Scholar_272@reddit
Only if he borrows it from his queen.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
Well I mean I definitely can't but I'm sure there's at least someone in the Xennials crew that can. Also if you are that person, please post your Krull abilities for science

The cyclops’s curse has always stuck with me
psilosophist@reddit
My intro to existentialism.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
Yah'll have seen the cyclops skit, right?
graveybrains@reddit
cordelaine@reddit
Still love this one. We’ve watched it a few times with my kid.
GravyPainter@reddit
It was so bad it was good. Clash of the Titans too
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
Fucking love Clash of the Titans. The new one didn't tickle my pickle but it still had the baddest of the baddest mofos -- Bubo the mechanical owl
ButterscotchAware402@reddit
During Covid, after taking some acid, my husband and I tried a Dark Side of Oz thing with Krull and Black Sabbath's Master of Reality. It worked surprisingly well.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
I'm more of a Stardust to cartoons (Fantastic Planet, etc, China,Il Season 3 Musical Episode is definitely a highlight) to... Well depends on where you want to choose to take your adventure. But if you ever need a good cry, may I recommend Kubo.
aspect-of-the-badger@reddit
I watched it recently with my kids and it was okay. Still as hokey as ever with the space royalty and what not but in a fun way.
here4dambivalence@reddit (OP)
I agree the lack of spice melange is appalling but at least they had
engrish_is_hard00@reddit
Yes lawd krull
terminally_irish@reddit
Can you open the door?
HratioRastapopulous@reddit
For a split second I thought this was a teaser for a remake and got really excited.
Don_Shetland@reddit
Don't all these remakes suck though?
sparkster777@reddit
Me too. Now I'm sad.
ninetysevencents@reddit
I always loved this movie, the world building, the theme, the costumes, the sets, the flying horses, all of it.

I wanted to watch this movie but never got a chance. After it was released on video I used the money my mom gave us for xmas presents and bought it for my younger brother.
