GPU Selection

I’m in the process of building my first PC, but I’m having trouble deciding between these 3 graphics cards.
This will be a light use gaming/ CAD build, so I feel like I’m kinda stuck with Nvidia
Choices are: RTX 3080 (EVGA Refurb), RTX 4070 (either ASUS Refurb or new Gigabyte), or a new RTX 5070, not married to a particular brand.
I’m open to suggestions from AMD, but I’m not so sure I can run Solidworks or something similar without a workstation card. (Doesn’t hurt that the W6600 looks amazing)
Current parts list is:
CPU- AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
MB- MSI Pro X870-P
RAM- 1 16GB stick, undecided on brand, adding another stick at some point
CPU Cooler- Cooler Master 360 Atmos
PSU- Corsair HX1000i
Case- Corsair 5000D
I already have everything on this list save for the CPU, RAM, and GPU thanks to a FB marketplace deal. So I’m sticking with what I have for the time being.
Most titles I play aren’t new, and I’m staying away from most popular online titles like Arc Raiders for instance.
What would you choose?

Out of these three the 5070, but the 9070 is better than the 5070 in raster and equal in standard RTwhile being around the same price.

I would say 5070 out of those. While this doesn’t always hold true, my usual rule is that a new card will usually be 1 tier up from the previous. So the 4070 will be roughly equal to the 3080 and a 5070 will be more like a 4080. Doesn’t always hold true but it’s always seemed like a good rough approximation. Also, when picking between two cards with equal performance, the newer one will usually have more bells and whistles to help improve frame rate.

If 5070 fits the budget get that.

I would say the 5070.
The 4070's havent dropped in price enough on the 2nd hand market to justify saving a bit of money over not having any repair or warranty protection.
If the option is $500-550 for a used 4070(s) or $630 for a new 5070 I am going 5070 all day long.
Also the 9070xt is a very solid option coming in at about $700 or so. It rivals the 5070ti in performance while costing 30% less. As of now its probably the best bang for your buck if you can stretch the budget.

Don't forget the 9070! Same price as the 5070 with more fps and 16GB vram.

That's totally fair, its just I always have to check on what the price the 9070 is at on any given day. Of all the cards of this current generation it is hands down the most volatile with pricing.
I am seeing the 9070 at $609 and the 9070xt at $699.
Personally I am opting for the xt for that little of an increase, but the 9070 is a fair option as well.
